Home description
Calle Olivillo is an old property that has undergone extensive refit and renovation, yet retains all the characteristics of a Spanish house with its accommodation on multiple levels.
Ideal for either a touring holiday - more or less equidistant from Ronda, Granada, Marbella, Cordoba and (perhaps) Sevilla.
However a number of our guests have opted to spend most of their holiday relaxing on the terraces only venturing out to the local restaurants.

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
The inland Malaga province near Riogordo is very mountainous and quite different to the overdeveloped coastal region. Much of the area is allocated to Natural Parks including El Torcal Park Nature Reserve which is known for its unusual limestone rock formations, the Natural Park of Fuente de Piedra which is in a stunning setting especially popular with bird watchers and, also, close to Malaga, the Montes de Malaga Natural Park which is a region of dense pine forest crossed by small valleys and water courses and waterfalls, high up in the mountains overlooking Malaga and the Mediterranean. The caves and beaches at Nerja and the wine area of Montilla are both a comfortable trip from the house.
Riogordo area
Riogordo is a typical Moorish style "white" rural Spanish village. It nestles at an altitude of 400 metres in the hills just 35 minutes drive inland from Malaga Airport in the Axarquia region of Andalucia in Southern Spain. The area benefits from its proximity to the coastal area but has generally remained unaffected by them so retains its local character and identity.
The area has numerous tapas bars and restaurants that provide excellent, great value food.
The nearest golf courses are the Parador at Malaga, Baviera at Velez-Malaga and Antequerra (where the par three 6th is quite spectacular - see gallery) - all are about 30 - 45 minutes from the house.
Skiing is available in the Sierra Nevada - about an hour and a half away.
From the house it is just about possible to ski in the morning and play golf in shorts in the afternoon!
How to get there
The house is ideally placed about 35 minutes (50kms) from Malaga Airport (Easy Jet) and about an hour away from Granada Airport (Ryan Air). Take the Granada road from Malaga airport (N331 then N241) and then at Casabermerja turn off onto the E356.

Further details indoors: A spacious property with numerous spaces for those looking for solitude.
The lounge has air conditioning whilst the dining room has a wood burning stove. In addition there is also a 'snug' containing the satellite TV.
The two double bedrooms have large pine wardrobes with hanging space and drawers. The twin rooms have hanging space. All bedrooms have bedside tables with drawers.
A special and unusual feature is that each of the bedrooms has a double UK power point in addition to Spanish power points so you don’t need to bring any adaptors.
Further details outdoors: There is a washing machine is in a separate utility area next to the kitchen. There are 4 separate terraces so guests can follow the sun and/or find somewhere to keep to themselves. We have noted the house as unsuitable for the infirm. The property is on a number of levels that make it a fascinating property (from our guest book) but there are a number of steps. Consequently it might not be suitable for the infirm or very young.
