This apartment offers spacious accommodation and is situated only 300 m from the beautiful blue flag beach of Mil Palmeras. It is equipped with hot / cold air conditioning in the lounge and master bedroom for all year round comfort. Ceiling fans are also fitted to all three bedrooms.

The master bathroom has twin basins and there is also a separate shower room. The fully fitted kitchen comes with all appliances including a dishwasher and there is a separate laundry room with washing machine and sink.

The large terrace is south facing and is furnished with a dining table & chairs for 6 people. Awnings have been fitted for shade and privacy.

The Riomar development features a children's playground and is equipped with excellent sports facilities and courts suitable for playing tennis, football or basketball. Next to the sports area is a snack bar providing refreshments from daylight until the early hours.

The area of Mil Palmeras is only a short walk away and has direct access from Riomar via a bridge over the dry river bed (Rio Seco). Here you will find a selection of bars and restaurants, plus a nightly market in the summer season. There are also two beach bars for you to enjoy an evening under the stars.

The Valenciana region

Situated on the south east coast of mainland Spain, the Costa Blanca is renowned for it's sandy white beaches and warm Mediterranean climate. Boasting over 320 days of sunshine a year, even in December the temperature rarely falls below 17 degrees. July, August & September temperatures average 30-32 degrees.

Steeped in history and boasting beautiful mountain views, sweet fragrance orange groves and glistening waters, this picturesque Valencian province has something to suit all tastes and ages.

Rio Mar Torre de la Horadada

This is a traditional Spanish area with unspoilt blue flag sandy beaches and coves to explore. The nature park, salt lakes and nature reserve at San Pedro del Pinatar and fishing villages of San Pedro and El Pilar are nearby. The cultural towns of Murcia, Cartagena and Torrevieja are ideal for tourist attractions, shopping and restaurants.

Just a short drive south of Riomar is the Mar Menor where the sea is shallow and 5 degrees warmer than the Med, being ideal for children. The mineral rich waters of the Mar Menor have a saline content of 50% and are scientifically recognised as being therapeutic in the treatment of rheumatism, arthritis and many other ailments. The mud is also believed by many to contain natural healing properties, particularly for skin complaints and many visitors and locals can be found having a mudbath to treat their ailments.

San Pedro del Pinatar is one of the main tourist destinations along this stretch of coast and the beach area of Lo Pagan offers many sea front bars and restaurants. The town has a marina that provides fishing, scuba diving and sailing opportunities. San Pedro also boasts the Salt Works Nature Reserve, which is a unique Mediterranean coastal area. This is a great area for walking and bird watching as flamingos and other migratory birds nest here every year and use the reserve as a stopping place in their migrations between Europe and Africa. Nearby Torrevieja has great shopping and the old cities of Murcia and Cartagena are well worth a visit for their wonderful architecture, particularly Murcia with its University and Baroque cathedral.

There are many sports facilities available in the area, including seven internationally acclaimed golf courses within easy reach. Green fees tend to cost around thirty pounds and we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment. Within a 15 minute drive you have 3 Golf courses: Villamartin, which has an abundance of olive trees and well placed bunkers to make it a challenging course for players of all abilities. Las Ramblas, which is a stunning, but short course and is most challenging. High trees, natural fairways and ravines feature strongly in this memorable course. Campoamor, which is situated in two valleys with magnificent views and with a beautiful clubhouse to finish off the day. Campoamor requires a 36 or less handicap.

No need to bring your clubs as you can hire them at the courses. In addition you can also hire electric buggies. The courses all have eighteen holes, putting and chipping greens and practice areas. There are also cafeteria’s/ restaurants where you can unwind with something to eat and drink after your round.

Are all within easy reach (10 min drive). For the hard to please a 30 minute drive further south will bring you to La Manga the world famous golf resort, with three eighteen hole courses to choose from. What more can the enthusiastic golfer ask for!

Please note that most have a strict dress code and require a handicap card to play.

"ideal apartment"

Beautiful clean modern apartment, well equipped, ideally located near to the beach and within walking distance for restaurants. This is the second time we have used this apartment and it has remained as well kept as the last time we stayed. The area is mainly holiday homes but you feel safe and secure walking around. We love milpalmeras and have been holidaying there for the last seven years and it never dissapoints. Would recommend this apartment for all ages.

"A very relaxing stay in an extremely comfortable and well equipped apartment."

A simple local map of the quickest route to walk to the beach and restaurants and local supermarket. It took us a couple of days to locate the local supermarket; this wasn't a problem for us as my family had dropped us off at a supermarket on the way from the airport. (We obviously didn't have a car).

"Excellent accommodation, fantastic area, 100% recommended."

Had a really wonderful family holiday. Nice clean apartment, 5 mins to the beach and strip. Communal pool very well looked after and not busy even in peak August.

"Fabulous holiday, very relaxing a great time had by all."

This was my 2nd time staying at Rio Mar The Apartment was very clean with all mod cons needed. The apartment is only 15 to 20 mins from Murcia airport, Rio Mar has a pool area that is lovely, beach, bars and restaurants only 10 mins walk. There are very few shops in this area however there are other towns with great shopping 10 - 15 mins away by car if you want. We had a great time.

"Spacious, well equipped, clean, modern apartment."

We stayed in this apartment in March, as we have stayed in various apartments in Milpalmeras area, this one was by far the best, very spacious, clean and well equipped. The balcony has the sun in the afternoon, and it was a treat to sit and watch the world Go by. It was also a luxury having two bathrooms. We enjoyed our time there and would definitely book it again.

"excellent holiday"

having just returned from our holiday staying in Riomar 9 , i would like to say that we were delighted with the apartent it was clean spaciouse and well appointed . The apartment is not located in the missle of town but is not far from it so you get the convenience as well as the peace and quiet . We did not use the on site pool very much as there is a strange rule that you are not allowed to have sunbeds and as my parents ar in there 70s laying on the grass is not too practical . Having said that the beach is 5 min walk and there is also a bar/resteraunt called the Olympia which has sunbeds , pool , bar and also serves food from full meal to light snacks so it is no great inconveniencs . the town itself ( which is only a short walk away , as said I had my parents with me who did the walk twice a day every day without a problem ) is a lovely place with a good variety of restraunts . We did find that the prices were a lot cheaper this year , wether that is a trend across spain or because it is a more spanish resort I do not know , but it was a pleasent suprise . Also the owners were kind enough to provide additional keys as being 3 different generations we do not all come home to bed at the same time . Overall cannot finf a complaint and would recommend. "Fabulous, relaxed holiday in very comfortable accomodation"

The apartment has everything you will need. The reclining sofas in the lounge are very comfortable and the satelite TV provides most channels, for the odd time you just want to sit indoors. Restaurants to suit every taste within walking distance.i.e. from cheap and cheerful to more upmarket dining. The supermarket is a good stroll (we don't drive on holiday) but not too far. We called in most days for the delicious confectionery. Sitting at the beach bar most evenings with your feet in the sand and an ice cold drink is a great way to complete a perfect day, The beaches are wonderful. The best thing about this area is that it is a spanish holiday resort and therefore you don't get lots of english speaking people.Truely a great getaway.
