About the home

Spacious and comfortable apartment in the emblematic Copacabana. The beach is only 3 blocks distant, good restaurants, traditional bars, sports and leisure activities nearby. The underground station is quite near (200m), very handy if you wish to visit ancient Rio and its baroque churches, museums and cultural centers. Or you can hire a bike and stroll by the lane alongshore Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon or around Lagoa, a urban lagoon where you can also jog, have a drink or a meal surrounded by a splendid scenery. Fitness center just across the street and antique shops mall only 5mn walk from the apartment. Exciting night life in Copacabana and nearby Ipanema and Leblon.

Ancient capital of Brazil, Rio is a city to party, to hear good music or simply get around the incredible natural scenery. The city is built in between the sea and the mountains so you have beaches all along and the only urban forest in the world. In 1808 the Portuguese Court settled in Rio that became the first European capital outside Europe. At that time, some very elegant buildings were built, the Teatro Municipal, The National Library , the Museum of Fine Arts and others. The temperature is pleasant year round, ranging from 25°C to 35°C.

The Rio de Janeiro City / Copacabana Beach area

Go up the mountain Pão de Açúcar that offers a spectacular view over Rio as well as the Cristo Redentor. Visit the Botanic Garden, a wonderful green area; have a walk or ride around Lagoa (a urban lagoon); go clubbing at Fosfobox, or have a drink by the pool of the famous Hotel Copacabana Palace. During carnival, usually in February, you can watch/participate of the many rhythm groups that passes on the streets. On the 31st of December you will be in the best spot to watch the fireworks at midnight on Copacabana Beach, a few minutes walk from the apartment. Remember to be dressed all in white, like every carioca. Another wonderful spot to have a drink or eat with spectacular view is at the Forte de Copacabana, in the right end of the beach. If you want to hear some good music, go to Lapa, a traditional region of old Rio. Art galleries in Ipanema, theatres and the best restaurants at Leblon.

“Charming oasis in great Copacabana location” My wife and I know Rio well and consider this apartment to be a real find. Located in the heart of Copacabana, within easy reach of the beach and close to all amenities such as restaurants, shops and the metro (3 min walk); the parallel street it overlooks to the front is relatively quiet and free of heavy traffic. The spacious dual ambience lounge/dining area is comfortable and tastefully decorated, and the well-appointed double bedroom has ample wardrobe storage, excellent modern remote-control air conditioning and satellite TV. The kitchen is attractive and was well equipped with good size work surfaces, fridge, freezer, oven, microwave etc. We were delighted to find that even small items had been thoughtfully provided, such as coffee, sugar, salt, ice. The bathroom was very clean with all amenities including shower (over bath). The Wi Fi worked very well throughout our stay. The pleasant ambience and tasteful decor made us feel at home and we were happy to relax in this pleasant apartment that has a real lived-in and cared-for feel about it. I should also specifically mention the wonderful staff of the condominium who couldn't do enough for us and were always very kind and helpful. The apartment is cozy and charming, and I would say is ideal for a couple seeking a comfortable refuge among the bright lights and attractions of Copacabana.

The rooms are large and the area was very safe to walk in through the... more Response: I would like to clear a misunderstanding: the flat is 3 blocks (or 5 minutes walk) from the beach and is located in the very heart of Copacabana.
