About Ringwood

Ringwood stands on the western edge of the New Forest at a crossing point of the River Avon. For centuries it has been the traditional market town of the New Forest with its market charter dating back to 1226.

Ringwood still has a lively Wednesday morning street market and has remained a delightful, unspoiled historic town with both quaint and modern shops, street entertainment, restaurants, pubs and cafes.

Ringwood features a good selection of shops to browse in including three supermarkets and a wide variety of smaller specialist retailers. Be sure to wander down West Street to view the River Avon from the old three-arched stone bridge or enjoy a stroll around Jubilee Garden. The church too is well worth a visit.

Ringwood is well placed on the Avon valley footpath and ideal for an overnight stop.

There are many other opportunities to discover the area on foot and the visitor information centre can provide details of local town trails and walks.

Ringwood

The New Forest National Park is a unique landscape of ancient woodland, heather-covered heath, wide lawns, boggy mires, gentle farmland, coastal saltmarsh and mudflats and picturesque villages. It is one of the last places in the south east of England to offer a sense of wildness and tranquillity. As the largest remaining area of lowland heath in Europe, it gives the flavour of a landscape that was once much more extensive. Like other National Parks, it is one of ‘Britain’s breathing spaces’.

"Nice holiday but let down a little bit by the cottage"

Overall we had a nice holiday. The location was convenient and we enjoyed the pool. However there were a couple of things which we were not so happy about, namely: (i) We had specifically asked about road noise from the A31 and were advised that this could not be heard from inside the cottage. In fact it proved loud enough to wake up our 2 year old. (ii) The advert does not mention that the cottage is split level, with a spiral staircase which we did not find family friendly.

Really sorry that there was some road noise this has been the only complaint of this type that we have had in the last 2 years. I have taken on board your notes on the stairs and we have had a stair gate fitted.once again thank you for your comments kind regards.

"Lovely holiday flat in the New Forest"

We had a lovely stay in the Forest Cottage. The best bits are the location - right in the heart of the Forest yet easy to access to the nearby town of Ringwood. The pool was lovely as well - our daughter loved it. Thoroughly recommended!

Thank you for listing your best bits-We agree! Again Thanks Melissa and Family

"Comfortable and welcoming place with all the facitilities you would need even a pool"

Great place to stay set in a great location. The accomodation was better than expected and the indoor heated pool and tennis courts were great add value. Pretty much everywhere you would want to go was within half hour, be it a sleepy village town or busy Bournemouth. We are looking forward to booking it again next year. The owners were welcoming at all time and no question or request was too small

Were so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and appreciated our fantastic location. We look forward to greeting you again. Kindest Regards Melissa and Family
