About the home

Apartment is ideal for people whos like original old interiors with artistic atmosphere. This beautifully appointed apartment is in the VERY HEART of the old town., 150 m from Parlament building, 300 m from President Palace and othes. All night life buuz is just around.
Property original stay up from 1870. year. It had renovated 2007. Profesional artists overpaint ceilings and to arrange interior. Apartments has own entrance. Walls are original bricks from time home was built up. Lot's of interior details are from the same time or made now in the stile of that time, for instance life fire-place is cooperatinon between two centuries 19th and 21st.
Riga has well known opera. Operas solists coming from all around the world to sing in The Latvian National Opera. Tickets are for realy good price and availabele. Also we have good balet shows. It's international theather in Riga and 6 national thethes, one of them is 40 m from property. Lot's of events in the Arena Riga
It's possible to make a partys in the apartment.

Old Riga

The Riga region

Riga is Baltic metropolis, with nearly a million people. The city was founded 1201 by german missionar Albert van Buxhoeveden. After long german govern Riga was under Polish-Lithuanian, Swedish, Russian Empire control. Later short, but realy important time for Latvia and Riga, as capital city ,independance between 1918 and 1940. After that Rige was swallowed up by the Soviet Union. From 1991 Latvia and Riga is independant again.
Region has nice climate, could winters mostly with lot's of snow and hot summers. Autumns with colorfull ( red, orange, yellow) tree leafs and slowly , light spring.

Riga is medielval town, surrounded first with imposing wooden bildingsin the neoclasical stile and then in Jugendstil. Riga has finest collectinon of artnouveau bildings in Europe. With over 800 years of history, a UNESCO World Heritage Site listed historic city centre and modern buzz, Riga remains a largely undiscovered gem with plenty to delight and enchant the visitor.

“Fun and quirky.” We had a lovely time in this apartment. Kristine, the owner, was very flexible and easy to work with. The flat has thick stone/brick walls, with arches throughout. Watch your head if you're on the tall side. The decorations were original, and gave a sense of fun. Perhaps the best feature was the working fireplace and supply of wood. Fast, easy wi-fi was also nice. There's a flat-screen tv which gets no channels, but we brought our iPod cable and watched movies we'd brought with us. There's a stereo and a small selection of CDs and movies on DVD. The bed was on the sparse side, but comfortable enough. What's not obvious from the website is that there are no windows at all. This goes along with it being a basement flat, but we hadn't figured it out until we got there. It wasn't an issue for us, but know before you go. The flat is spacious overall, with a small efficiency kitchen. There's everything you need for small-scale cooking, but you wouldn't want to do more than fry a couple of eggs. The bath is tiny. It's a beautiful flat, tons of fun if you have the right mindset. If you want a modern, standard hotel room, book elsewhere. If you're a bit quirky, willing to be flexible in some points so you can stay in an incredibly original, beautiful flat, with more room and a better rate than you'd ever get in a hotel, than this could be the place for you.

Guestbook for Magic time

If you have ever dreamt about living in a palace or experiencing some fairy tail atmosphere the basement, how we call it here, is the right place for you. Old brick walls, lovely decorations, nice lighting, dishes, fireplace etc. The basement is not just a place to stay or a place for having a good party, it really has soul and is very inspiring. And location is perfect as well - the very centre of Riga, almost old town, but still pretty quiet.
Me and my friends have spent very, very good time there. I really love the place.
