The Lazio region

Land of culture, art, religion, and age-old tradition – also recounts its history through enchanted places. Starting from Rome, the Eternal City, as we pass through the age-old villages and myriad evocative sites that so enrich the whole area, we gain a complete picture, a marvellous image of this attractive region. The journeys we can embark on, the timeless places where we can lose ourselves in beauty: these are all delights rarely encountered.

From the Medieval village of Calcata, transformed in recent years into a bohemian enclave, to haughty Tivoli’s imperial villas, true masterpieces declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites; or the majestic, evocative Civita di Bagnoregio, nicknamed the “dying city” and famed as one of Italy’s most beautiful villages, or the Natural Oasis of Ninfa, a jewel of nature and culture, rising where marsh once reigned and nicknamed the “Medieval Pompei”: from north to south, from east to west, many are the roads that lead to Rome, a place that, at every moment, offers stirring images of the past in perfect harmony with a seductive modernity.

Rieti

Rocca Sinibalda is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Rieti in the Italian region Latium, located about 50 km northeast of Rome and about 15 km southeast of Rieti.

It is home to the Sforza Cesarini Castle, originally built in 1084 but turned into a more modern fortress in the 1530s by Baldassarre Peruzzi, commissioned by Cardinal Alessandro Cesarini. The interior has frescoes from the 17th and 18th centuries.

The remains of the ancient Sabine town of Trebula Mutusca are not far.
