Home description
The property has been sympathetically restored in 2005. There is a spacious lounge with dining area and fireplace housing a wood burner. The room boasts oak beams and terracotta tiles. A traditional spiral staircase leads off the living room to the beautiful master bedroom, complete with furniture from the nineteenth century. This room is also set off by the original beams and terracota tiles and has a tuffeau fireplace. The living room and master bedroom both overlook the town square and fountain.
To the rear of the house the kitchen can be found, there are French doors opening on to the garden. There is grassy area and a patio with table and chairs. The master bathroom and separate shower room can also be found located on the ground level to the rear. Upstairs you can find the second double bedroom. This pretty room, with wooden laminate floor enjoys a roof terrace, perfect for breakfast or an early evening cocktail. The layout of the house makes it perfect for two couples to enjoy.

The Loire Valley / Indre-et-Loire region
Known as the garden of France, the Southern Loire has a temperate climate. It is usually warm from April - October. The winter are relatively mild with less rainfall than areas North of the Loire river. The garden and terrace of the house is a real sun trap. The area is characterised by many chateaux and wine cave's the famous being Chinon red wines and delicate whites of the Touraine. Tours is within 30 minutes drive of the house, as are the outstanding chateaux of Villandry and Azay-le-Rideau. The beautiful towns of Chinon and Saumur are within 20 and 40 minutes drive respectively. The Loire Valley is famous for its fairytale chateau's, stunning scenery and quality wine production.
Richelieu area
RIchelieu is a beautiful and peaceful town. There is a 1000 acre park which is great for bike rides and walks. All local amenities, local bars and restaurants etc, are within a minute or two walk from the house including the famous "Les Halles" covered market (a colourful market has been held here for 300 years) on a Monday and Friday. There is a heated outdoor swimming pool less than ten minutes walk away.

Eurotunnel Calais or Boulogne to the house is a 6 hour drive.
Ferry Portsmouth - Caen on Brittany Ferries - 3 hours drive to the house from Caen. Portsmouth - Le Havre on P & O Ferries - 3.5 hours drive to the house from Le Havre. Dover - Calais - various - 6 hour drive to the house from Calais.
