Les Lavandes is a brand-new luxury, detached self-catering holiday home with private swimming pool . The house is set in a wonderful location close to the small village of Vanxains with its boulangerie, yet only 5 miles from Riberac with all its amenities and famous market.
The location is wonderfully peaceful and ideal for getting away from it all. The house is spacious, superbly equipped and beautifully furnished. The large south-facing terrace has been designed to make the most of stunning views and fabulous sunsets.

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Dordogne region
The Dordogne area of France is still unspoiled and perfect for getting away from it all. The countryside surrounding our house is wonderfully peaceful and our terrace gives wonderful views of rolling hills and valleys and stunning views of sunflowers in the summer. There are lovely rivers for canoeing and the vineyards of St Emilion and Bergerac are only an hour or so away.
The house is located at Champagnac - a small rural hamlet,sitting astride a ridge with lovely views. The old village of Vanxains, with its boulangerie and post office nestles in the valley below and is only a short drive away – you can also cycle or walk to it.
Riberac, a bustling town is five miles away. It has all kinds of shops, hypermarkets, great restaurants and other facilities such as tennis and canoeing. The famous Friday market at Riberac is as much a social occasion as a shopping opportunity: you can easily while away a couple of hours checking out the local specialities.
Riberac / Vanxains area
Aubeterre, a very old and very beautiful village is only 15 minutes drive away (you can bike it if you are feeling energetic) Other activities such as golf and horse riding are also nearby. There are lots of other lovely places to explore. Brantome, Bergerac, Perigueux and St Emilion are all less than an hour’s drive away and are brilliant for shopping and sightseeing.
There are many excellent restaurants within easy reach offering good quality and great value food. Our house has a detailed ‘house book’ which will give you all the information to make the most of your stay. There are several golf courses within driving distance - the nearest at Aubeterre is about 15 minutes drive away.
How to get there
However you choose to travel to the Dordogne, you really need a car when you’re there to get the most out of what the area has to offer. We usually come by ferry and drive down - our favourite route is Brittany Ferries' Portsmouth to St Malo which makes it an easy 320 mile drive. But if you want to cut down on the driving, some of today’s airfares make fly/drive much more affordable. We love travelling into Bergerac (Flybe and Ryanair), which is about an hour away. It’s such a small airport you can often do plane to hire car in about 15 minutes!

Further details indoors: Les Lavandes is a spacious, superbly equipped, luxury detached house with a wood-burning stove and electric heating and air conditioning in all bedrooms and is beautifully furnished inside. This brand new house has 3 bedrooms (2 doubles, 1 twins) , 2 bath or shower rooms plus a separate WC. The kitchen is superbly equipped with Bosch washing machine, tumble drier and dishwasher. The double-height sitting room and dining room are light and airy with exposed beams and enjoy panoramic views .
The house is all on one level. The master bedroom has a super-king double bed and private dressing area and its own luxury shower room. The other double room (king-size double) and twin-bedded room share a bathroom. There is also a guest WC. All the bedrooms have heating and air-conditioning.
Linen is included in the price. We regret no pets.
Further details outdoors: The house has its own private drive and covered parking area. Directly outside the house, the large south-facing terrace has a pergola - wonderful for BBQ's, eating outside and enjoying the fabulous sunsets. There is a further sun terrace next to the private swimming pool. The garden is quiet and peaceful with the most wonderful views of surrounding hills and valleys and is ideal for adults and children alike.
Further details
A deposit of £250 per week to be paid on booking. The balance payment plus a refundable security deposit of £300 to be paid 6 weeks before your holiday. The security deposit if refunded after your holiday if the house is left clean and in good order.
