About the home

There is a fully equipped kitchen in a authentic French Country Style, a pantry area with additional cupboards, a large and grand dining room, a formal drawing room and a cosier living room.There is also a Games Room with a large French billiards table.

The 9 bedrooms include 4 doubles, 1 triple twin bedroom, 3 twin bedrooms and one single bedroom to provide flexible accommodation for parties.

There are no direct en-suite bathrooms but the bathrooms are set out around a cluster of bedrooms at each end of the corridor so works well and no bedroom has a long walk to the bathrooms.

Bedroom 1, 2, 3 and 8 all have access to one bathroom at one end of the first floor. At the other end of the first floor, Bedrooms 4, 5, 6 and 7 share the second bathroom.

Bedroom 9 is on the ground floor and is next door to the third bathroom. All the bedrooms are furnished with antique and French painted furniture.

An enchanting historical French Chateau with much charm and oozing the French way of life. The Chateau has 9 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms which are well set out around the bedrooms, a swimming pool, lake and stream all of which are set in grounds of over 300 hectares. The Chateau is styled very much in traditional French antique furniture with many antiques and soft furnishings.

There is a large Orangerie set within the courtyard close to the Chateau which is ideal for weddings and conferences. There is a kitchen area within the Orangerie with side access for catering vans and equipment.

There is a large BBQ pit close to the Orangerie for pig roasts and large BBQs. There is also a village church which is a short walk from the Chateau along the stream and over a pretty bridge.

In addition, there is a 3 bedroomed cottage on the other side of the courtyard which is never let separately but can be rented at an additional cost for larger groups and wedding parties.

What the Chateau lacks in en-suite facilities, it makes up with true French charm and grandeur. The turrets and towers are truly spectacular and the setting is out of this world!It is an ideal holiday home for families and groups in search of tranquillity and privacy. Yet it is only a 10 minute drive to the village of Riberac with shops, bars, restaurants and the all important French morning market. Throughout the summer, there are banquets, festivals and events taking place throughout the season.

The Chateau is ideal for outdoor living and is set in a 300 hectare estate and offers the best of all worlds for its guests.

The long driveway set through the trees and then over the bridge into the formal front gardens gives an idea of the grandeur to come. There are formal lawns and formal gardens which are ideal for wedding photographs and aperitifs on the lawn as well as the beautiful stream and plenty of meadow and woodland walks. There is also a large lake which is a short drive away for the keen fishermen.

The 12m x 6m pool is close to the Chateau and is fenced for security. There are recliners and parasols for guest use as well as a pool-side shower and WC area.

For outdoor dining, there is a large wooden dining table with additional parasols that seats 14 easily.

Located in the South West corner of France, Aquitaine has got it all.

It continues to be envied – enjoying a wonderful climate of four very different seasons, outstanding natural beauty, superb gastronomy and great wines.

The Riberac area

The Chateau is set on the edge of the small hamlet and just 10 minutes drive into the bustling villages of St Aulaye and Riberac. The Friday morning market in Riberac is reputedly “the biggest market in the Perigord”. Throughout the week there are daily morning markets in the area full of local fresh produce such as Saturday mornings in Saint Aulaye and Sunday mornings in Aubeterre.

There is an abundance of fantastic restaurants to suit all budgets and tastes if you would rather eat out and the local specialities of Foie Gras, Duck, the many cheeses, local prunes and the fantastic local wine are all easily found.

For the more active, there are plenty of sporting activities all close by such as horseriding, cycling, fishing walking. The large swimming lake with its own beach at La Jemaye is under a 10 minute drive from the Chateau.

There is canoeing at Aubeterre, Roche-Chalais and Brantome which is called “the Venice of Perigord” and well worth a visit. There is a 9 hole Golf Course at Manoir de Longeveau which is about a 20 minutes drive away.

The rental is per week, Saturday to Saturday, arriving at 4pm departing at 10am. This may be flexible out of July and August.

Heating is not included in rental prices.

A deposit of 25% is required by the Owner to confirm the booking.

The final balance is due 12 weeks before arrival.

A damages deposit of €1500 is also required at that time.

The Chateau is also an ideal venue for a Wedding party. A Wedding accommodation package can also be provided and the Chateau has a wedding planner that can be used to arrange everything.

The Chateau may is able to accommodate shorter breaks such as long weekends. These breaks are ideal for weddings, golfing, wine tasting and fishing weekends. All these activities can be arranged locally.

In Low and Mid season, prices may be discounted for smaller groups. For further information, please enquire.
