The Denbighshire region
The Northern coastal strip of Wales has come a long way since its rise to fame and popularity in the Victorian Era, when travel by rail was all the rage. Still served by a good network of public transport modern developments have brought the A55 coast road linking the M56 outside Chester to the Ferry port at Holyhead (passing Anglesey Airport on the way) making the whole coastal strip accessible within a couple of hours from Manchester so is ideal for a self-catering holiday getaway.
One of the first things that attracted the Victorians to the area was the unspoiled natural beauty of the North coast with the wide sandy beaches stretching as far as the eye can see at Llanfairfechan, Penmaenmawr, and Colwyn Bay. Thus the traditional Victorian seaside resort of Rhyl was born with its imposing pier and classic promenade evoking wonderful memories of a bygone age. The North Wales coastal strip can not only bring back memories of youthful holidays on the beach but has developed with the times to cater for the ever expanding interests of today's holiday maker, from the endless choice of modern day seafront amusements and the Seaquarium at Rhyl to the new Water Sports Hub at Colwyn Bay due to be completed in summer 2013.
Rhyl ison the North Wales coast with fabulous sandy beaches, where traditional seaside holidays get a modern makeover.
With more sun than the national average the welcome here is as warm as the weather and there are many things to do on dry and not-so-dry days. Rhyl is two hours of the West Midlands, and half that from Merseyside.
While Rhyl offers the best of the modern seaside family holiday. Rhyl is a vibrant hub of activity, with events and attractions that keep the family amused all day and well into the night too. It also a relaxed and safe seaside haven with stunning views and a variety of activities that take advantage of all the natural and historical wonders nearby.
Rhyl will give you more things to do than you can shake a stick of candyfloss at!
