About this location
The North Wales region
Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.
Situated on the stunning west coast of Anglesey, the popular seaside village of Rhosneigr is set amidst the area's spectacular cliffs and magnificent sandy beaches. With tales of smugglers, famous offshore shipwrecks and a church dating all the way back to the 6th Century, this is a village with a varied and fascinating history. Since the Edwardian era it has been a fashionable holiday destination and is still known for its magnificent beaches, as well as the recent addition of its outstanding water sports facilities. Activities include windsurfing and kitesurfing, with tuition for both available in the village. Other interesting things to do include fishing, sailing, sand yachting, wreck diving and golf, as well as fantastic walks through the surrounding area. The local market towns of Llangefni and Holyhead offer a number of pubs, restaurants and shops, whilst Holyhead provides visitors with a chance to explore Ireland's capital city via its short ferry trips to Dublin.
