Things to do
The beach at Rhosneigr is a great place for sunbathing and lounging about in the water but it can also be a good spot from which to watch windsurfers at play or gaze upon the RAF jets performing their routines at Valley, now made famous by Prince William. A good range of bistros awaits in the main street but The Oyster Catcher near Llyn Maelog on the outskirts of Rhosneigr has quickly developed a strong reputation for its cuisine. Llyn Maelog is a small shallow lake behind the dunes which supports the large variety of birdlife inhabiting the reedbeds such as grey heron, snipes, reed warblers, coots, mallard and shelducks. Black headed gulls nest on the small island. There is a public footpath around the lake which allows direct access to this tranquil spot– what a great way to build up an appetite before a meal at The Oyster Catcher.
All along the west coast there are wonderful bays and beaches which are easily accessible from the A4080 such as Aberffraw, Malltraeth, and Newborough Forest (leading to Llanddwyn Island). To the north is Holyhead Mountain, South Stack RSPB Reserve, Breakwater Country Park, Trearddur Bay and Rhoscolyn.
Ty Croes motor racing circuit, just a few miles south of Rhosneigr, offers perhaps the most dramatic venue in the United Kingdom for motor sport as cars and motorcycles swoop through corners and crest gradients against the backdrop of the Irish Sea. There is always a great atmosphere and it is not to be missed.

• Cot and highchair available at no extra cost (on request)
