The North Wales region

North Wales is an extremely popular holiday destination, with its varied but unquestionably stunning scenery; ranging from the dramatic Snowdonia mountain peaks to the rugged beauty of Anglesey's coastal paths and beaches. Increasingly accessible by road, rail and ferry from Ireland, there is a wealth of things to see and do. Whatever type of holiday you are searching for: whether with family, a romantic break, indulging in your favourite sport, sampling locally produced food and wine or exploring this ancient land's rich cultural history or even all of the above, North Wales has it all and more!

Rhosneigr

Calling all kite surfers, windsurfers and water sport adrenaline junkies! Rhosneigr continues to cement its reputation as a UK renowned wind and surf capital. Rhosneigr's bustling seaside village character attracts not just water sport enthusiasts but appeals to a much wider group of people; all those who simply love being by the sea. The beaches at Rhosneigr are world class. The Town beach sweeps in a mile long arc of golden sand all the way down to Cymyran and Anglesey's inland sea, perfect for rock pooling and exercising dogs and children along whilst admiring the RAF jets at Valley carrying out flight practice. Alternatively Broad beach stretches along the coast in a south westerly direction towards the Aberffraw estuary and Newborough beach. The view across Broad beach of Snowdonia and Lleyn peninsula, in my view, is one of Anglesey's most magnificent.

The village of Rhosneigr offers plenty of restaurants and pubs including Sandy's Bar & Bistro, Sullivan's, Mojo's creperie and Y Morfa's thai food as well as Funsport's Surf Cafe. Just out of town is the opened in 2012 TheOystercatcher restaurant standing in the sand dunes behind Broad beach. You can dine in a beach hut on the 1st floor terrace or why not try out the ground floor 'Will's bar' described as "an alpine bar on the beach"!

Food and groceries can be found at the Clock Towers' post office and Spa or at the Wayside convenience store, Llanfaelog. Tescos and Morrissons supermarkets are 20 minutes away in Holyhead or Menai bridge has a Waitrose.

For those after a retail type of therapy, there is even a Fat Face on Rhosneigr's high street!
