The North Wales / Snowdonia / Anglesey region

Angleysey's relatively flat and green interior belies the fact that it has some of the most beautiful if not THE most beautiful coastline in the whole of North Wales and way beyond!
There are literally hundreds of gorgeous safe and sandy beaches and miles and miles of superb headland walks.
Holyhead is the main port being a major ferry terminal for Southern Ireland and of course has a mainline station.
There are lots of great places to visit including the seaside village of Treaddur Bay, The historic Town of Beaumaris, Menai on the straits, Caernarvon Castle, and all the seaside ports and villages.
We often visit the South Stack lighthouse. Near to Holyhead there’s a great RSPB viewing tower there too called Ellen' tower. For golfers there's a good golf course at Holyhead.

Rhoscolyn area

Borth Arian is in easy walking distance of a lovely pub and eatery called The White Eagle at Rhoscolyn. This can be reached either by walking back across the farm track and along the lane to Rhocolyn (take the sign to the Beach) or along the headland from Silver Bay in a westerly direction (About 45 mins walk)
They serve lunches and meals all day and the food is excellent.
The Silver Bay caravan site has a good club house and you can join for about 50p! They serve tasty inexpensive food and drink. You can reach here by foot (go down to Silver Bay and then follow the track up by the boat park and continue through the site to the clubhouse) or of course via the lane by foot or car!
Treaddur Bay has an excellent place to eat called The Seacroft and is about 3 miles away. There’s also the Waterfront Cafe there. Four Mile Bridge, less than 2 miles, has Ygegin Fach Cafe serving very good homemade plain food. The Anchorage hotel at four Mile Bridge serves typical bar food. Valley is the nearest shopping centre for all the basics and boasts a Spa store, Londis store/PO, HSBC Bank (open till12am) chemist, Hardware, great butcher/greengrocer, cash machine and various other shops and cafes.

Further details indoors:
Borth Arian was built in the 1920's by the famous architect Sir Patrick Abercrombie as his holiday retreat. The stunning vaulted ceiling in the lounge and Welsh slate open fireplace are testament to his profession.
In the lounge there are 2 comfortable settees and an armchair, large driftwood table, TV/DVD player, and large welsh dresser. The French windows open onto a southerly sea facing open pillared veranda with magnificent views over Caernarvon Bay towards Snowdonia. Patio table and chairs available.

The large L shaped breakfast kitchen has a large table and can seat 10. There is a log burner in here and the easy to use central heating boiler is well camouflaged in a kitchen cupboard. There is a large electric range cooker, double sink, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge freezer. The French windows open onto a lovely patio area also sea facing

The good size master bedroom has an en suite with power shower, basin and WC. There is a king sized bed, wardrobe and lots of drawer space, The French windows are also sea facing

The second double room has a double bed, drawer space and sea views. The third room has 2 single beds and is a walk through bedroom adjacent to the Master bedroom.

The family bathroom has a bath and power shower over, basin and WC.
All in all this much loved and cherished family holiday bungalow has fantastic living accommodation and everything you could want for a brilliant holiday by the sea.

Further details outdoors:
Borth Arian is built in an elevated position facing due south with superb views over Caernarvon Bay looking out towards Snowdonia and the Mainland.
The house is set in 3 acres of gardens completely surrounded by farmland and bounded by stone walls and fencing and approached across a farm track and a long drive leading up to a wide stoned parking area.
Due to the size of our expanding family we have recently built an east and west wing which are completely independent annexes and the overall feeling on this elevation is that of a 3 sided courtyard. Only the east annexe is let out and may or may not be in use at any time .For larger groups or families this can be an added advantage if you need extra accommodation and is advertised on this site as Ty Bach.
In our opinion the garden is so huge and private space so individual that having the annexe occupied in no way impinges on Borth Arian's privacy and enjoyment.
As well as a sheltered lawned area there are 2 spinneys and lots of lovely pathways round the garden. There is children's tree house and rustic climbing frame; it’s a real paradise for children! The public footpath to Silver Bay is just over the stone style on the eastern Boundary of the garden and takes 5 minutes to reach.
