This is a unique property standing in 3 acres of gorgeous garden with elevated sea-views across Caernarvon Bay. Lovingly decorated with a vintage/sea-side theme in mind.

Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural beauty (AONB) and less than 10 minutes walk to a beautiful sandy beach (Silver Bay) with lovely headland walks to other nearby beaches (e.g. Rhoscolyn & Trearddur).

A pretty and peaceful location - but within easy walking distance of a super pub and eatery (The White Eagle) in Rhoscolyn. Holyhead and supermarkets are about 5 miles away.

There is an annexe attached on the East wing (Ty Bach) - this is also available for lettings and sleeps at least 12. Please be aware that other guests may be staying there during your stay - however, the garden is huge and the properties are self-contained - noise does not tend to travel between the cottages - but we do ask all our guests to be respectful of others.

We have all the usual mod cons - as well as an open fireplace in the lounge & log-burner in the kitchen.

The property is set well off the main road and is accessed by a delightful country lane. The final 250yards take you down a bumpy farm track (not owned by us) - so just take it slowly if you don't have a 4-wheel drive!

A much loved family holiday home - NOT a bland show home!

NB THE AVAILABILITY CALENDER OFTEN PLAYS UP - SO PLEASE CHECK WITH US BEFORE DECIDING ANYTHING!

PRICES MAY VARY ACCORDING TO THE TIME OF YEAR & NUMBERS!

Further details indoors

Borth Arian was built in the 1920's by the famous architect Sir Patrick Abercrombie as his holiday retreat. The stunning vaulted ceiling in the lounge and Welsh-slate open fireplace are testament to his profession. Decorated with a maritime theme in mind, we think you'll love it as much as we do!

In the lounge there are 2 comfortable sofas and an armchair. There is also an open fire, large driftwood table, TV/DVD player, and Welsh-dresser. The French windows open onto a southerly sea- facing veranda area. Patio table and chairs available. The magnificent sea-views over Caernarvon Bay and towards Snowdonia are breath-taking.

The large L- shaped breakfast kitchen can seat at least 10. There is a log burner in here and an easy to use central heating boiler. There is a large electric range cooker, double sink, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge freezer. The French windows open onto a lovely patio area - also sea-facing.

The good size master bedroom has an en suite with power shower, basin and WC. There is a king sized bed, wardrobe and lots of drawer space. The French windows are also sea-facing.

The 2nd double room has a 2 single beds – these can be pushed together to make a double – also, plenty of drawer space and lovely sea views.

The 3rd third room has countryside views, a velux window, a double bed and plenty of storage.

The family bathroom has a bath with shower – plus basin and WC.

All in all this much loved and cherished family holiday bungalow has fantastic living accommodation - everything you could want for a brilliant old-fashioned sea-side holiday!

Although we believe the property to be a magical place to stay - it is NOT a 5* hotel! or bland show-home. Perfect for families, pet-owners and lovers of the outdoors.

Further details outdoors

The views are amazing - right across the sea to Snownonia! As well as a lovely big lawn, there are 2 spinneys and lots of lovely pathways around the garden. There is also a wooden climbing frame and play area; it's a real paradise for children!

EXTRA ACCOMODATION:

Due to our growing family we have recently built 2 extra wings – which work as independent annexes. For larger groups please note that The East wing can be rented out! If you are interested it is also advertised on this site under the name ''Ty Bach'' - it sleeps at least 12.

The East wing may be let out to a separate family during your stay - however, the grounds are so large, and the accommodation so private, that having the annexe occupied in no way impinges on Borth Arian's privacy and enjoyment.

The public footpath (part of the Anglesey Coastal Path) to Silver Bay is just over the stone style on the eastern Boundary of the garden and takes appox 10 minutes to reach.

RAF Valley is not far away - so for those of you into planes and helicopters - you may get a free display! There can be noise associated with the air-craft - but it rarely last for long and we find it interesting and exciting!

The property is well off the main road and accessed by a delightful single track country lane. The last part of the track is a bumpy farm-track (not owned by us) . For those of you without a 4-wheel drive - take it slowly!

The North Wales region

Angleysey's relatively flat and green interior belies the fact that it has some of the most beautiful if not THE most beautiful coastline in the whole of North Wales and way beyond!

There are literally hundreds of gorgeous safe and sandy beaches and miles and miles of superb headland walks.

Holyhead is the main port being a major ferry terminal for Southern Ireland and of course has a mainline station.

There are lots of great places to visit including the seaside village of Treaddur Bay, The historic Town of Beaumaris, Menai on the straits, Caernarvon Castle, and all the seaside ports and villages.

We often visit the South Stack lighthouse. Near to Holyhead there’s a great RSPB viewing tower there too called Ellen' tower.

For golfers there's a good golf course at Holyhead.

Rhoscolyn

Borth Arian is in easy walking distance of a lovely pub and eatery called The White Eagle at Rhoscolyn. This can be reached either by walking back across the farm track and along the lane to Rhocolyn (take the sign to the Beach) or along the headland from Silver Bay in a westerly direction (About 45 mins walk)

They serve lunches and meals all day and the food is excellent.

The Silver Bay caravan site has a good club house and you can join for about 50p! They serve tasty inexpensive food and drink. You can reach here by foot (go down to Silver Bay and then follow the track up by the boat park and continue through the site to the clubhouse) or of course via the lane by foot or car!

Treaddur Bay has an excellent place to eat called The Seacroft and is about 3 miles away. There’s also the Waterfront Cafe there. Four Mile Bridge, less than 2 miles, has Ygegin Fach Cafe serving very good homemade plain food.

The Anchorage hotel at four Mile Bridge serves typical bar food. Valley is the nearest shopping centre for all the basics and boasts a Spa store, Londis store/PO, chemist, Hardware, great butcher/greengrocer, cash machine and various other shops and cafes.

It was wonderful meeting you and your parents. We're so glad you enjoyed Anglesey and the house. No one has ever mentioned the 'fruit baskets' before, so that made us smile as we love them too! We hope to see you again one of these days. Kindest regards, Sophie x

"Glorious isolation"

We have just come back from a three night weekend break with our two children and two friends. The directions were very easy to follow and within 15 minutes of leaving the A55 we were at the cottage. … More

We are so glad to hear this lovely family had such a great stay at Borth Arian! It really is a much loved family holiday home - and it cheers us to know others have enjoyed it too! As there are 13 kids in our family I wouldn't worry too much about breaking stuff - we're used to a bit of rough n tumble! Yes, the drive is a little bumpy...we had it re-surfaced last May - however, the rain we've had since thn has not done it much good at all. As the track's not ours - and constantly used by the farmer who owns it - we can't do an awful lot - but I do know there ar plans to top up th dips with new gravel shortly. As you say - just take it slowly! Hope to see you again soon!

"unexpected paradise, keep it quiet!"

Our second visit to this superb holiday cottage. Accommodation, facilities, grounds, location, beaches, walks, peace and quiet - all 100%. Would not suit those who do not like bumpy tracks or being quite isolated but for those who do - perfect. Safe for children, short country walk to beach. A privelage to stay in such a much loved home surrounded by carefully collected artifacts from far & wide.

So lovely to have return guests! Really glad you love it as much as we do! Hope to see you again very soon.

"fabulous property and wonderful location"

Hi, we had a fabulous time in this cottage - the facilities are just fabulous (altho boiler can play up - we found it hard to turn it off). Location superb - walk to beaches etc - but not ideal for those who dont like seclusion. Lovely garden for the children to play in.

The only down side we had was getting to the property - it is a 'track' - left us with over £500 car damage so if you have a low slung car, think twice. We had been warned that it was a track but my view of a track didnt match what i had expected. We did go in the winter so may be better in the Summer. We also arrived late at night and it was very difficult to find - turn up in the light if you can!!

For five star luxury tho this is just the place.

We're so pleased you had a lovely time! It really is a very special house. Just to keep you updated - we've had the bumpy farm track levelled and re-gravelled. It is still a rural track – but there are no more pot-holes. We think you'll find it perfectly driveable now!
