The Aegean Islands region
Rhodes is the largest island in the group known as the Dodecanese. It is the 3rd largest island in Greece and is positioned south east of the mainland close to the coastline of Turkey. Its positioning makes it popular with sun worshippers as the island is said to enjoy more days of sunshine than any in the Med.
A testament to the sun god, Helios who claimed the island for himself, Rhodes rose out of the sea more than 2000 years ago. With that life span you can only begin to imagine the history of this mountainous isle. One thing is for sure, if you love the sun and you love Greece, Rhodes will not disappoint
Climate and Weather The temperature soars in July and August and is often hovering around 40 degrees. April and May are months of few tourists and great for nature lovers as the island is a carpet of wild flowers. Winter rain fall produces an emerald isle of spring greenery and lush vegetation. June sees that island starting to get busy with visitors from every corner of Europe. Luckily mile upon mile of sandy beaches mean that even in August you will still find a spot on the beach to soak up some sun and sea. The winter climate is very clement which makes Rhodes an ideal spot for some winter sun. However be prepapred to the island as it is with no tourist trappings.

Further details indoors: This original village house has been enlarged and gone up in the world with an extra floor, but it still retains all the charm and unique qualities of an old style house. The arch way separates the kitchen from the lounge area and large patio doors give a light and airy feel. The lounge is comfortably furnished with stylish wicker sofas, comfortably arranged around the lovely fireplace.
Upstairs there are three bedrooms, two at the front sharing a spacious balcony with stunning sea views. The third, single bedroom has a window which overlooks olive groves.
Further details outdoors: The large open patio at the front of the house is accessed in the traditional way up some steps from the village street. This patio area has comfortable lounging and dining furniture and becomes another living space from the house. Large patio doors give access to the lounge and kitchen areas. There is also a paddling pool supplied for cooling off! The patio has beautiful views over the rooftops of the village down to uninterrupted sea views. In the eving there are small lanterns and soft outside lighting to enjoy the reflection of the moon on the water and star gaze at the blue velvet night sky. A wonderfully relaxing holiday retreat.
