The Aegean Islands region
Rhodes, the largest of the Dodecanese Islands, has a very long recorded history dating from the 6th century BC. Strategically placed close to Turkey, the island has been conquered many times by the Dorians, Romans, Turks, The Knights of St. John (Crusaders), Italians & Germans with the Dodecanese Islands coming under the protection of the British at the end of WW11 before being handed back to Mother Greece in 1947. Despite so many invaders the people have retained their Greek identity although the cuisine does bear some outside influences & is considered one of the most delicious in the Mediterranean region.
Summers are hot & dry with peak temperatures often reaching c. 45C in midsummer. Light rain is occasionally seen in early & late season (April & October) but rarely lasts long. More prolonged wet periods are seen in the Winter which helps to keep the island vegetation green & lush.
There are many interesting places to visit on the island & a car can add an extra dimension to your holiday. Or alternatively there is plenty to see & explore just in Lindos, the most beautiful of all the Greek villages.
Rhodes / Lindos area
There are many ancient sites to visit in Lindos including the Acropolis, Amphitheatre, Tomb of Cleovoulos etc. The village has 3 beautiful beaches, the Main Beach, Pallas Beach & St Paul's Bay all with a totally different character.
Eating out ranges from fast food Greek souvlaki through to traditional tavernas & fine dining restaurants. There is even a great Chinese & an Indian restaurant ! There really is something for all tastes & all budgets.
Night-life is lively but mature with characterful bars, often located in ancient buildings, playing music for all tastes. After 1am the bars quieten down but if you are still wanting more there are a couple of sound-proofed night clubs that carry on until the early hours without disturbing others.
The usual Greek festivals are a regular feature of Lindian life & since 2005 the village has hosted one of the biggest annual Classic Rock Festivals in Europe, RhodesRock, every June. See www.ClassicRockTours.com
How to get there
Fly to Rhodes - our property is just 40 km from the airport. Scheduled flights available from Easyjet, Fly2 & most charter airlines from most UK airports to Rhodes. Car hire available with Rhodes airport pick-up & drop-off. Alternatively there are always taxis available at Rhodes airport.

Further details indoors: The Horizon Studios & apts. are probably the best available in Lindos. The owners have added those extra touches throughout like the luxury bathroom with corner bath/shower, satellite TV, kitchenette that can be hidden behind stylish doors with hotplates, fridge, sink etc.
Extra large furnished patio or balcony with fantastic views, upgraded furnishings, direct dial phone, free Wi-Fi internet. Air-conditioning & in room safes are available at small extra cost, payable in resort.
Guests return year after year to this friendly, comfortable & welcoming property.
Further details outdoors: Set in well kept gardens, the property features a very large outdoor pool with plenty of sunbeds on the spacious deck. It also has a small children's pool & play area for the little ones. Views over the sea & Ancient Acropolis are absolutely stunning from the pool area.
Adjacent is the bar & snack bar for breakfast, lunches, beers, wine, spirits or soft drinks & after dark the upper bar opens which is set up a small flight of steps & overlooks the pool. Once a week there is a poolside BBQ in the evening which is very popular with the guests.

All rates shown in price grid are per week per studio for up to 3 guests. We have apartments with mezzanine floor for up to 4 guests at small extra charge per week.
Whilst the property is wheelchair accessible it is approached by a short , steep hill. However, for those with mobility problems, please consider whether Lindos is suitable for you as, although compact, it is hilly with narrow streets.
Smokers are very welcome but are requested to smoke only on room patios or balconies or other outside areas.

"The interior of our duplex apartment was fairly simple but the ceramic vases and red tiles on the balcony added those touches, and the bathroom was immaculate, with a big corner bath, a reasonably powerful shower and nice contemporary décor.
