About the home
Villa Angela is a unique, historic villa, originally a 'Captain's' house dating from the 1840s, situated in the heart of Lindos town located down a quiet lane yet only minutes walk from beaches, restaurants, shops and the Acropolis.
Being offered for rent for the first time by the owner, there is currently excellent availability.
As you walk through the ornately-carved front door of Villa Angela, you enter into an inner sanctum of peace and tranquility - a beautiful courtyard with a traditional Lindian cobbled pavement surrounded by comfortable seating and lush planting crowned by an enormous tree providing cool shade. Off the main courtyard are a fully-equipped kitchen with seating; a delightful twin bedroom with ornate wooden ceiling; the main bathroom and walk in bath; a huge 'salone' (Drawing Room) with intricately carved wooden beams and raised beds/sofas with scattered cushions; and a jasmine-scented walk up some stone steps leads to the Master Bedroom, a gorgeous and very private room with a huge double bed on a raised platform, located in its own tower with wraparound views of the village.
Another set of stone steps leads to a white-washed roof terrace with potted olive trees and further up is a second white-washed roof terrace with breathtaking views over Lindos' white-washed houses.
Walk through to a second cobbled courtyard with a stone dining table seating 10, under a pergola dripping with lemons, and a smaller seating area with ornamental fireplace. The second twin bedroom is traditionally furnished and is near the second bathroom with wet-room-type shower and laundry.
Villa Angela is a rare and unique, beautifully restored historic house full of character ideal for truly getting away from it all with friends and family, and within a few yards of shops, restaurants and beaches - the perfect holiday!
