The Aegean Islands region

Rhodes is the largest of the Dodecanese islands, a group of twelve islands adjacent to the Aegean coastline of Turkey. The Knights of St John were resident on the Dodecanese between the 4th and 6th century AD, and built castles on each of the islands. While the Dodecanese islands are grouped closely together, there is a wide diversity in landscape, culture and traditions on each island.
If you have never visited Greece before, expect a laid-back, restful experience. Greek people are extremely warm and friendly, and the family is central to Greek culture, so children are always welcomed in bars and restaurants.
The Rhodes / Lindos area
The beautiful island of Rhodes is commonly known as the 'Island of the Sun' as it usually boasts at least 300 days of sunshine per year. The landscape is diverse, ranging from stunning mountains to the interior, and endless beaches and quiet coves, some with Blue Flag status, most of which are easily accessible by car.
Rhodes is steeped in ancient history, relics can be found all around the island. In particular, the remains of the Colossus of Rhodes, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, can be seen in the UNESCO world heritage town of Rhodes to the North of the island. Also well worth a visit in Rhodes town are the Palace of the Grand Masters and the archaeological museum, and the cosmopolitan harbour region, where you can view the many yachts and boats while enjoying Greek meze in one of the many portside tavernas. From Rhodes harbour, ferries to neighbouring Symi or Turkey can be caught for day trips.
Lindos is an unforgettable experience, a stunning village of whitewashed 'sugar cube' houses lie under the imposing acropolis dating back to 2000bc. There are 4 beaches, ranging from a popular beach with water sports in high season, to a quiet cove in the enchanting St Paul's bay. On an evening, choose from a vast range of rooftop tavernas, each offering stunning views of Lindos by night.
Nightlife on Rhodes is suited to all tastes, from traditional Greek evenings to modern nightclubs to romantic evenings enjoying the beautiful sunset.
An award winning par 72 golf course is located at Afandou, 16 miles from Pilona. Also, there is a large waterpark in Faliraki, and Prasonissi, on the Southernmost tip of the island, is a haven for kitesurfers and windsurfers.
Attractions on the island include the Valley of the Butterflies, the habitat of hundreds of thousands of Quadrina butterflies during the Summer months, and Epta Piges (seven springs), a woodland paradise, with a crystal clear lake and a kilometre-long pitch black ancient aqueduct tunnel through which braver individuals can walk!
The West coast of the island is largely unspoilt and many ancient monasteries can be visited in spectacular locations. To the interior, visit Siena to taste Souma, the local firewater, and Embonas, home to several vineyards open to the public for wine tasting - just make sure someone else is driving!
The village of Pilona is situated just a few minutes drive from Lindos, and its location allows easy accessibility to all the attractions Rhodes has to offer, including a large beach less than five minutes drive away.Pilona is a tranquil, laid back village, but still offers two tavernas offering excellent traditional Greek food, a village shop and children's playground. A large supermarket is within a couple of minutes drive.

Olive Grove Villa is equipped to a very high standard, with everything you couild possibly need for a self catering holiday. The facilities at the Villa are excellent, we spent many an hour relaxing by the pool, and later in the day relaxing on the wonderful roof terrace. The views from the roof terrace were amazing, particularly at sunset from the jaccuzzi. A lot of thought and attention to detail has gone into the indoor and outdoor furnishings, which definitely make for a more welcoming and relaxing holiday. There are a couple of typical Greek Tavernas within walking distance, which serve lovely food. Venturing further afield, Lardos & Lindos are wonderful places to visit & sample the local cuisine. We returned from our stay at Olive Grove totally relaxed and ready for the great British winter !! We can definitely recommend this Villa, particularly for it's peace and tranquility, (with livelier facilities close by if required) |

Just recently returned from a wonderful week at Olive Grove Villa run by lovely Colin and Jennie - right from booking they were so helpful with advice and friendly tips. They have a great management team out there who are always on the end of the phone as well. Plenty of space, clean and finished to a lovely standard, the pool was fantastic and the hot tub was a real treat! I don't think I could go on holiday again without having both to choose from! Made full use of the BBQ and lots of really good local produce to chose from in the little shops in Lardos, plus a well stocked supermarket near by. Would recommend hiring a car (use George Cars, great value and good service) as it's a short drive away from Lindos (although not too much for a taxi there and back in the evenings) but also great to be able to explore more of Rhodes especially the south and west coast. All in all just a really great place to be based, we had such a lovely time there and couldn't recommend it highly enough. Thank you! |

Jackie and Mike Kerr July 2011- On previous villa holidays, especially those booked through a lettings web site we have had almost no contact from the owners. In contrast, the service we received from yourselves including the information you provided before our departure and upon arrival at the villa was extremely professional and most helpful from start to finish.
Becki Hall June 2011-We had a lovely stay at your villa in June for our wedding. The villa is beautifully decorated and had everything we needed.

Gerry and Hilda Donohue April/May 2011- We came for a romantic spring break to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary, and were not disappointed. We left totally relaxed and re-charged and ready for another 25 years!!
George Horsford April 2011-Thank you for the food and Champers in the fridge on arrival. Good to have some music and dvds to entertain us. You have a great selection of seating areas, umbrellas, chairs and tables and loungers, we were spoilt for choice. Hot tub was brilliant, everyone loved it.

Deb Smith September 2010 - The villa is perfect for a relaxing holiday near to Lindos and Lardos. The villa has an element of luxury to it with all of the mod cons you require from a villa holiday. We comfortably slept 6 adults and a 2 year old (1 double room and 2 twin rooms).Nice lot of storage space for clothes.

A wonderful Villa perfect for a relaxing get away for a group of friends easily accommodating 6. The different relaxation areas really gave character to the villa and it was nice to have been able to have interaction with those cooking at the BBQ or in the kitchen and with the outdoor table perfectly placed. We could not have been made to feel more at home by the management team who went out of their way to accommodate us, we felt like part of the Olive Grove community and would definitely return. Graham was so helpful and that is the main difference we noticed from our previous villa holiday is that having a contact out there and someone that can look out for you and help with queries and make recommendations is invaluable and really added to our holiday. We will definately come back!
Vitally Kostenko and Family August 2010- We had a great time in Rhodes and your villa is of high class and we felt like at home from the day one. Everything was just fantastic.
David Jones and family June 2010- I have to say that this was our best family holiday, the villa was perfect and just what we were looking for. The facilities at the villa were outstanding and that you had everything there for everyone’s needs from the music, dvd’s, games, kids pool toys and books! Graham the property manager was such a great help and nothing was too much trouble, the neighbours were happy to advise on restaurants and even gave us a lift to our wedding as the taxi hadn’t turned up! Once again thanks so much for sharing your villa with us, we will no doubt be looking to book again on our return visit to Rhodes.
Dorothy and Dave Chapman May 2010- We went with our 3 grandchildren on 29th May, 2010. Colin and Jennie were the perfect hosts and gave us lots of help and advice leading up to the holiday. The booking experience was smooth and straightforward and I ended up feeling like we had made good friends. The villa was just excellent. Clean, comfortable and well looked after by Graham the manager and Dave the pool man. They gave us plenty of good local advice which certainly enhanced our stay. The villa had lots of little extras and everything you could possibly need was there. I didn’t even have to take a hairdryer. The kids loved the pool and the jacuzzi was a delight. The villa included board/playstation games and a good choice of CDs and DVDs for our entertainment. I even found time to watch a couple of good DVDs! We rented a Fiat Doblo and Colin and Jennie advised us to go to Georges Cars in Pefkos for it. Great advice, everything was just what we needed. We had a fab holiday and the villa is a perfect base from which to enjoy Rhodes. We had a great time at the villa and thank you for being so kind and helpful. The whole experience was just perfect and you made everything so easy for us.
Lian McBride and friends visted Olive Grove Villa May 2010- The villa was beautiful and had everything we needed. We were so tired when we arrived but we just lit up when we got to the villa. We loved everything about it. The information you had there was a great help, especially as we were only there a week and would have wasted time trying to find things out ourselves. The roof terrace is so well done and it was heaven sitting under the stars in the hot tub. George’s car hire was great so thanks for the recommendation. The management team were excellent and really friendly and helpful, Graham was brilliant and nothing was any trouble. The kitchen was just like being at home, everything to hand and the beds really comfy. Thank you very much for all of your assistance and answering all of my questions before our holiday. I will recommend your villa to all of my friends and family and hope to come back myself in the future.

The villa was perfect, exactly what we had hoped for and even in late October we had some beautiful weather. The hot tub was huge hit in the cooler evenings at this time of year. Long lazy days at St Pauls Bay and the cheese balls at the taverna in the village are to die for - we seriously considered offering Mamma the spare room to come home with us! Thanks for a great holiday .
