Currently accepting 20% discount on booking in July and August. Recently renovated, this original old village stone house is located in the quiet village of Malona. The property consists of a large and comfortable, well equipped bedroom, plus fitted kitchen and shower room on the ground floor with a bright and airy living room upstairs, accessed by an external stairway. Thick stone walls and tiles floors keep the house cool, although air conditioning has been fitted for added comfort. A heat recovery system also provides comfortable heating during the cooler winter months. The Mediterranean style terrace, surrounded by vines, makes the perfect dining area with views across the village and surrounding countryside. A second, shaded courtyard, downstairs, provides a welcome retreat from the heat of the day
The Aegean Islands region
Rhodes is the largest of the 200 or so Dodecanese Islands with an area of 1400 square kilometers and is situated in the south east corner of the Aegean Sea. The granite of Mycenaean settlements, marble of classical sites and stone of medieval churches and castles are all tangible legacies of its long historical time line. it is said that Greek Gods were born on Rhodes and that the island itself was a gift from Helios, the sun god, to his favourite nymph Rhodon.
Rhodes has more days sunshine that any other island in the Aegean and with long hot summer days, warm waters, numerous beaches and lots to do it is not simply am island for archaeological buffs. It is a cosmopolitan island where you will find everything from amazing beaches to medieval castles, throbbing nightlife to deserted and sleepy villages. On the northern tip of the island is the capital, Rhodes Town, a vibrant place with many shops and restaurants to choose from. Rhodes Old Town is an immense citadel with high sandstone walls 4 km long set by the towns five natural harbours. it is a fascinating mix of Ancient, Byzantine, Medieval and Turkish influences that welcomes visitors from all over the world.
Rhodes / Malona area
The village of Malona is situated on the east coast of Rhodes where many beautiful beaches can be found. As an active traditional agricultural village it is surrounded by orange, manderin and olive groves. With footpaths leading from the village into the surrounding forests and hills the village is ideally located for those interested in walking and experiencing the beautiful surroundings. There are a number of eateries to be found in Malona and the neighboring village of Masari. Within the village are several small mini-markets, a chemist , post office and a butchers. Fresh fruit and fish are sold from vans visiting daily. Just 5 minutes drive lies the beautiful beach of Agathi, a sheltered beach with aqua blue waters and the port of Haraki which boasts a number of cafeterias, bars and tavernas.
The village provides an insight in to traditional greek living and with friendly locals and a friendly village atmosphere this makes an ideal holiday retreat. The village is also ideally located for those interested in walking with footpaths leading from the village into the surrounding forests and hills.
The village is also located close to a number of beautiful beaches, is 30 minutes drive from Europe's largest water park, 25 minutes from the local 18 hole golf course and 15 minutes away from local horse riding facilities.
How to get there
Flights from the UK are direct to Rhodes Airport between April and October and are available from most UK Airports: www.easyjet.com www.mytravel.com www.thomasfly.com www.flythomascook.com
Direct flights are also available from other European Countries. During winter (Nov to March) fly direct to Athens and get a connecting flight with Olympic Airlines or Aegean Airlines.
There is a daily ferry service from Athens and to all surrounding islands through Dodekanisos Express or Blue Star Ferries.
Car Hire is available at the airport although not 24 hours. We can recommend Rodos cars (www.rodoscars.gr). Taxis are available from the taxi rank at the airport. Fare to Malona is approximately 40 Euros.

Further details indoors: The house is a terraced property consisting of a large double bedroom newly fitted with a king size double bed and ample storage, a fitted kitchen and shower room and a comfortable living area. The property is comfortable and modern whilst maintaining many of the traditional features including beautiful wooden ceilings, cool tiled floors and thick stone walls, providing a cool, refreshing environment as a retreat from the heat of the day.
Further details outdoors: The upstairs terrace, surrounded by vines, provides an ideal dining area with comfortable seating and far reaching views. Ideal for enjoying the late summer evenings. The downstairs courtyard is shaded by vines and a lemon tree and provides an ideal outside area during the heat of the day.

Linen and bath towels are provided but not beach towels. Please do not take towels from the house for use on the beach. We would request that guests refrain from smoking inside the house, they are welcome to do so on the terrace and in the courtyard.
The property can be occupied from 3 pm on the day of arrival, with all guests vacating by 11am on the day of departure. This is necessary to allow for cleaning of the property before the next guests arrive, however this may be flexible with prior arrangements.
Conditions
Reservations can be held for up to 3 days to allow for the booking of flights. 20% deposit is required to secure a booking with the balance payable 8 weeks before arrival. If booking within 8 weeks of travel the full amount is payable on confirmation of booking.
A security bond of £150 payable with final payment - this will be held by us and returned to you immediately after your holiday providing no damage has occurred. Payments can be made by cheque or bank transfer.
