Perched on the headland, just a 5 minute walk from the laid-back resort of Pefkos, and a 7 minute drive from the stunning ancient village of Lindos, Villa Kipseli looks out on one of the most spectacular views on the island. The vila provides a perfect base for families looking for peace and privacy, with great nightlife and amazing scenery throw in for good measure. With perfect beaches, some of the best restaurants in Greece and the wonderful experience of Lindos on the doorstep, it is difficut to be bored or unhappy at Villa Kipseli! The villa faces south, with breathtaking views overlooking the Bay of Pefkos down towards the southern tip of Rhodes - just perfect for early morning coffee, leisurely lunches, evening cocktails watching the dramatic sunsets - or dinner under the stars. from the kitchen and rear patio there is a fabulous view of the valley and hills, with the glittering Aegean in the distance. The house, which was designed by world-class architects and furnished as a family home, rather than a holiday let, works well for families, couples and groups of friends looking for total relaxation and a chance to enjoy this most beautiful part of the world.

Families and friends of all ages have enjoyed Villa Kipseli - from small babies, teens and twenties, couples, parents - and Grannies and Grandpas. The house has a large infinity pool, with a shallow end, much enjoyed by small children, allowing guests to swim whilst enjoying the fabulous views and sunsets. The house is surrounded by a large garden and is peaceful with eagles soaring above - and yet close enough to the 3 villages of Lindos, Pefkos and Lardos - to ensure there is always something fascinating to do.

Whether a totally chilled-out holiday of the sea, sand and sun variety, a family get together, or a peaceful retreat whilst exploring the beautiful island of Rhodes, Villa Kipseli provides a tranquil, beautiful place to stay. The main problem tends to be leaving......

The Aegean Islands region

The Islands of the Aegean sit in the sparkling blue sea and present a magical and an inspirational place for holidays, relaxation and restoration of the spirit. For decades the area has attracted writers, painters and musicians. The scenery is dramatic, the light is intense and the people are warm-hearted, honest and incredibly hospitable.

The islands are all different - and yet share a fascinating history and culture. Any visit to the islands rewards the holiday-maker with an insight into a world of ancient history, combined with a unique zest for life, music ,laughter people, children and fabulous food - that is completely addictive. This, combined with gorgeous sunshine, swimming in the 'wine-dark' sea and becoming part of a warm, generous community -makes a visit to the Aegean Islands unforgettable.

Rhodes / Lindos area

Lindos is one of the oldest towns in the world. Its Acropolis, sitting above the village has recently been restored -and a visit, whether you make the climb up the hill on foot or by taking a donkey -ride up there, is an essential part of any visit. Dating back to 500 BC, along with the Amphitheatre near St Paul's Bay, the Acropolis provides a backdrop to a beautiful village of 'sugar-cube' houses with tiny winding lanes - too narrow for cars. By day Lindos is buzzing with tourists taking photographs of the stunning views, but at 4 pm, the village becomes the province of the locals and those staying there. The beauty of the village becomes clear and as afternoon becomes evening, the bars and the restaurants begin to open, for a long night of fun and food.

Pefkos is a beachside resort which has grown from a couple of tavernas 20 years ago to a laid-back village with some fine restaurants and bars. Its beaches are superb - for decades people staying in Lindos and even Rhodes Town have made the journey down to Pefkos to swim. There are many beaches, some large swathes of sand, others smaller coves. The sea is crystal-clear and turquoise. The beaches are gently shelving, making for safe easy swimming. Indeed, all 3 of my own children learned to swim at Plakia Beach, Pefkos. All the beaches now have umbrellas and sunbeds, showers and delightful beach bars, making a day on the beach easy, relaxing and delightful. The beaches are rarely crowded -and if one is, it is easy enough just to go round to the next.....

About 15 minutes away from Villa Kipseli is Kiotari, here you'll find watersports of every kind on offer. If you are a real windsurfing fan, however, yo may want to make the trip down to Prassonisi -the southern -most tip of Rhodes, where the choppy waters of the Mediterranean meet the much calmer Aegean Sea. Prassonissi has become the windsurfer's paradise - and it is about a 30 minute drive from Pefkos.

There are many interesting villages to visit across the whole island, with monasteries perched impossibly on tops of mountains and tiny tavernas in the middle of nowhere providing gorgeous local food - no menu - just a war welcome into the kitchen and whatever happens to be cooking at the time.

Whether you just want to flop and chill out on the beach or explore the magic of the island - Villa Kipseli, between Pefkos and Lindos has it all.

The Island of Rhodes is fascinating . Rhodes Town is cosmopolitan with some great shopping and harbourside cafes selling enormous cakes. It also has one of the best - preserved Medieval cities in the world - and a trip round the Old Town is not to be missed.
