Our Superb New Villa, Villa Godwin is detached, with 3 bedrooms (6 persons) +cot, it is tastefully decorated to a high standard with quality modern furnishings and many amenties at your disposal inside and out. There is private parking for one car, front and back terrace, 2 balconys with patio furniture, The private pool has a large patio area on which has 6 sunloungers and a wooden table with chairs for those warm summer evenings and alfresco meals. The villa is surounded by authentic stone walls at a low level which fuses the modern with the traditional magnificently.
With spectacular panoramic views of Kalathos bay and the mountains behind. Set in the hillside our villa has its own gardens, private pool and much more to offer for a superb, tranquil holiday in Rhodes.
Our villa is situated just above Lindos one of the main historical places on Rhodes famous for its acropolis and sugar cube houses, it is about a 10 minute drive from the villa. On the map we are half way down on the right handside of the island so it is a perfect place to be to start exploring or just sit back, relax and enjoy the stunning panoramic views. There are 5 other villas in the direct area and a church in front of them. Kalathos beach is a 5 minute drive or 20-30 minute walk.

The Aegean Islands region
Rhodes is known as the sunshine island and can boast nearly 300 days of sun each year the temperatures can get into the 40-50s centigrade in the summer months and still be as high as 19 in January which generally is the coldest but still much better than England!!
It is spear shaped and site of the southern coast of Turkey and is the furthest Greek island to the East is is approximately 1398 square kilometres in area and has 220km of coastline.
Rhodes has many sites of cultural and historical interest, Rhodes old town, the mandraki harbour where the colossus once stood, the acropolis with temple, ampitheatre and ancient stadium. There is Kaimeros and ancient city of Rhodes lays in ruin on the west side of the island and further south is the ruins of Monolithos castle which sits on its own mountain. On the east coast is Kallathea spa, Falaraki water park, seven springs, Lindos (another of Rhodes ancient cities) which is a popular tourist destination and is still a thriving but quiet town with the acropolis dominating the skyline. St pauls bay which is famous for weddings at the small chapel. Then on the southern tip is Prassonissi where the 2 seas meet and if you like sports then there is wind surfing and kitesurfing daily there. The valley of the butterflies is in the middle of the island to the north and is in a picturesque setting.
Rhodes / Kalathos area
Kalathos beach has sunloungers for hire and refresments can be purchased. There are many local bars and restaurants and a few supermarkets, a map can be found on our website. There are water sports in vlicha bay only a 5 min drive away. The water park at Falaraki is boasted as the largest in Europe and has something for everyone. Diving can also be arranged by PADI qualified centres (waterhoppers and dive med). The only golf course on the island is in Afandou and the rates are in our welcome pack in the villa.
How to get there
From May to October you can get direct flights with companies like, British Airways, Excel, Thomas Cook, Thompson, My Travel, Monarch, you could also try search engines such as Last Minute.com or Cheap Flights.co.uk If you want to travel out of season when then weather is still pleasant, you will need to travel to Athens by British Airways or Easy jet (cheapest) then use Aegean Airlines to "hop" to Rhodes. There are many car hire companies on Rhodes, both major ones and local ones all to very good standards with similar packages, we use Auto Union who will meet at the airport and you leave the car there on your return. Otherwise you can get a taxi to the villa and then rent out a car locally through Rodos cars, lindos cars, J&D cars, Marathon car rental. There are some businesss cards in the villa for some of these companies. Having a hire car is essential if you want to explore the island, or just 5-10minutes walk from the villa is the local bus stop which is very efficient and goes to Lindos or right up to Rhodes town, the bus shedule is on our website and we also have leaflets in the villa.

Further details indoors: The interior is painted neutrally with local paintings to add a touch of colour and the furnishings are to a high quality. The CD player is also an IPOD dock for most ipod versions, or you can insert a flash usb drive or SD card with music on a and it will play them, All the usual amenities are there e.g. fridge, freezer, oven, hob, toaster, iron, hairdryer, washing machine, kettle, microwave, and airconditioning in all rooms. The flatscreen tv had an integrated dvd player and there is local satellite channels with bbc world, euronews etc. There is an openplan kitchen dining room and lounge leading to a downstaries wet room, utility and bedroom. Upstairs there is a main bathroom with bath and shower over, main bedroom with large balcony and another bedroom with 2 single beds and a small balcony to the front of the property. The property is tiled throughout which helps to keep it cool in the summer.
Further details outdoors: On the main balcony is a small wooden patio set and had wooden beams over the top. Outside the front of the villa there is a large terrace accessed by the main door or 2 sets of patio doors from the lounge and dining areas. At the back is a small patio for the downstairs bedroom and then a garden with grape wines climbing th wall, rose bushes and an olive tree. There are steps leading to the private 6x4m pool and large patio area which has wooden furniture and 6 sun loungers, from which you can see the magnificent bay of Kalathos whilst relaxing by the pool.

Changeover day is Saturday (preferred) or Wednesday with prior agreement from the owners.
This is a no-smoking villa and sorry but no pets allowed.
Arrival time is 4pm local time and you must vacate the villa by 12noon to enable the maintenace team to clean.

Long term winter lets can be arranged at 500 euro/400 pounds a month which excludes utilities of water and electric and the pool maintenance (unless decomissioned).
