The Aegean Islands region

Rhodes lies approx 11 miles (18 km) to the west of the Turkish shores, situated between the Greek mainland & the island of Cyprus.

The island of Rhodes is shaped like a spearhead, 79.7 km long and 38 km wide with a total area of approximately 1,398 km² (540 square miles) and a coastline of approximately 220 km. Climb towards Mount Profitis Ilias and the forest filled route will take you to sites many a tourist never venture. One such site is a 14th Century Byzantine Chapel,named Nikolaos Foundoukli (Saint Nicholas of the Hazelnuts)and is worth a visit for the magnificent and ancient wall paintings inside.

* Other highlights we can suggest are Monolithos Castle perched on a rock 787 feet high and dating from before 1480,you will enjoy the most amazing views.

*The village of Siana stands on the south side of the 823-m high Mount Akramytis and is famous for exquisite honey & the impressive church of Agios.

How to get there

During the summer season on Rhodes (March-October) many airlines offer low cost travel direct to Rhodes. These include BA , Monarch, Easy Jet, Thompson Fly, Fly Thomas Cook. A simple Internet search will show many options from many UK airports. We suggest searching for flights in such web sites as Travel Jungle or Travel Republic.

Car hire: We always use Holiday Autos who are at Rhodes Diagoras airport with either a car waiting if you have pre booked or even if you just arrange when you arrive. This company however is one of many that offer competitive prices on vehicle hire so plenty of choice and great deals. The drive to Villa Kalliopi is approximately 35-40 minutes and the roads are excellent and simple to navigate.

Taxi to Villa Kalliopi from the airport is around 40 euros.

There are many flight options when it comes to reaching Rhodes in the winter months.

UK flights direct to Rhodes cease at the end of October and resume in March,but with many daily flights from Athens to Rhodes you can reach the island in no time and is a straightforward connection. Olympic Airlines and Agean Airlines are amongst those that fly the winter months.

A £250 security bond is required when you pay your remaining balance and will be held by us and returned to you immediately after your holiday providing we have confirmation no damage has occurred during your stay.

Arrival time is after 4pm. Villa Kalliopi must be vacated by midday on day of departure.

The villa was everything we anticipated it would be and the pix on your website do it justice. Every morning waking to those stunning views of Vlicha Bay was a complete tonic.
We could hardly get the girls to tear themselves away for the odd days sightseeing! They simply fell in love with the villa and pool.
We enjoyed every minute of it. The decor and all the furnishings and fittings were of excellent quality and I can honestly say that it was one of the best standards of accommodation we have ever stayed in - and we have travelled a lot! We could see what a labour of love it has become for you and quite understand why.

" Peter and Philip you are the perfect hosts of Villa Kalliopi, the welcome basket waiting for us was indeed most welcome, containing breakfast and the vital tea making ingredients that you must have when you arrive in at seven in the morning! The bubbly went down nicely too.
As pre-arranged with your help, the car hire company rep. arrived on time at the villa and the car itself was just right.
Kim Roberts the property manager was lovely when she finally managed to catch us in, and we could assure her we had had no problems.
The PlayStation was very useful first thing in the morning for keeping the kids amused, big and small!
Also very useful was the wireless broadband access provided, especially when it came to online check-in for going home.
As to the villa, words cannot quite do it justice and everyone in our party agreed it was truly luxurious and that a lot of thought and attention had gone into the decoration, plus marks again to Kim and the property managers as it was spotlessly clean.
The views from the villa are fabulous and it was only the urge to explore that dragged us away from the well kept gardens and poolside. The pool was a bit chilly but it was only the start of April and still the children were happy enough to get in at the end of a day walking about Rhodes numerous ruins.
We found many lovely restaurants wherever we went, and one on the west side of the island near to Kameiros which would be ideal if you had young children since it had a large play area and a shaded terrace with sea views. It's always worth remembering that many of the archaeological sites and museums are shut on Monday- but this gives you a great excuse to go shopping in Rhodes old town!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the villa and can recommend you both as organised and helpful hosts.

"Where do I begin to start telling you both what a wonderful holiday we have all just experienced?
From the moment we pulled up outside the villa and then on opening the front door (the boys were so excited they could not wait so they both nipped around the back) we were all truly BLOWN AWAY. "Villa Lindos Kalliopi is a heavenly place to stay! Tastefully and thoughtfully decorated. The attention to detail is to be admired, a combination of traditional Greek and modern European - all tastes catered for. Nobody could be anything but delighted with the ambiance of this home! Lots of attention to detail on just about anything you could possibly need, plus CD’s, DVD’s, PlayStation, large Plasma TV, books and games.
Many times during the day, and in the evening, we found ourselves sitting in silent contemplation just appreciating the view from the villa, whilst taking a much appreciated break from the hustle and bustle of our normal lives.
