Into a lush greenery, away from the noise of the city, is located the Villa Stamos.This is a lovely 3 bedroom villa with its own private pool in Plimiri of South Rhodes, just 350 metres from the beach.
Plimiri is in the South of Rhodes and is ideally situated for people who enjoy windsurfing or kitesurfing as the famous windsurfing and kitesurfing beach, Prassonisi is just 10 minutes drive from the villa. For groups of friends, there is also ample sleeping space for up to 9 people.
The villa also has barbecue, ample private parking and a big veranda, for enjoying the magic of nature in an idyllic environment. Villa Stamos has the advantage of having its own self contained studio with its own shower room. This is a great facility which allows guests within a group to have their own privacy. Moreover, our villa has a big (40 sq.m.) brand new swimming pool!
Situated in the South of Rhodes, many of the loveliest Greek Villages are in the area such as Lachania, and Kattavia. Villa Stamos benefits from a peaceful, tranquil environment.
The beauty of the surrounding countryside and the proximity of Plimiri beach make this villa a great environment for both groups of friends or families to enjoy a relaxing time together.
Our villa has the added advantage of the traditional greek-style 'sofas': This is an elevated quadruble bed which is ideal to accommodate a whole family, especially those with small children that is needed to sleep with their parents! But it can also be used for sleeping a group or a whole family of 4.
Additionally, the surrounding area has an incomparable beauty, where you can enjoy strolling the rural streets or using mountain bike (upon request). You can also swim in the Plimmiri beach (just 350 m. – 7' on foot), explore the nearby beaches, or go for fishing (as Plimmiri is known for its 'clean waters' and good fish quality).
There is a wonderful fish taverna right on the other side of Plimiri beach which is around a 1km walk or a few minutes by car.
The Villa Stamos is just 10 minutes from the exotic Prasonisi and 25' from the charming and historical village of Lindos and its acropolis.

The villa stands in a large 11500 sqm plot, and has an incredible sea view.
You can enjoy the magnificent sunsets and the stars, drinking your favorite drink inside the private pool.
There is a covered garage to keep your car cool during the hot days, but there's also a large parking area for up to 6 cars.
Generally, Villa Stamos is a quite traditional (but luxury, too) family house, away from the noise of the city. You will adore waking up early in the morning, hearing the birds and the sound of the waves of the Aegean Sea.

The villa will be available after 3 pm on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 9 am on the day of departure, however we will try to be flexible if possible.
Conditions
The default rental rates are for 6 people. For more than 6 people, there's an extra charge of 14 euros per person per day.
At your booking, an initial deposit of 25% of the total amount is required.
The rest amount must be paied 60 days before your arrival.
Refundable breakages deposit of 250 euros is required, to be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection). We also offer the option of a Damage Waiver Charge of 36 euros (Insurance against accidental breakages during your holiday, meaning you do not need to pay any breakage deposit), if the payment will become through a rental system that uses credit/debit card.

The Rhodes / Kattavia area
Kattavia village
Kattavia is the southernmost village in Rhodes located around 84km from Rhodes Town. In fact, to many Rhodians, it has always been affectionately known as “the last village”, due to its position on the island. The village originally took its name from one of the local leaders, Kattavos. It is a small attractive farming community, situated in the middle of a large plain of lush green vegetation and aromatic forests. The village is made up of old traditional houses and a handful of shops located around the well shaded village square. Some of the houses in the village, as well as a number of the buildings on its outskirts, once used for commercial purposes, show distinct Italian characteristics. These include the old silk factory, a deserted war-time prison, a derelict church with its clock tower and the impressive road opposite the church, lined with cypress trees, which leads to Aghios Pavlos Bay.
Lachania village
The village of Lachania is reputed to be one of the prettiest villages on the whole of Rhodes, second only to Lindos. Nestled in the southern foothills, with a mountain range as a backdrop, it has panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and valleys stretching down to the quiet and unspoilt beaches of the south which are sparsely populated even in the height of summer. There are numerous beaches to choose from, some of which are known only to the locals who may tell you where they are if you befriend them.
This peaceful villageretains its traditional charm with just a handful of tavernas, a village store and traditional houses nestled in the narrow lanes, many of which have been lovingly restored and inhabited by a happy mix of foreign buyers and Greeks, all of who have a mutual respect in keeping the traditional feel of the village and for local culture and history, which has been shown in their keen interest in restoring the old village properties to their original glory.
On entering the village, you are “welcomed” by an old windmill, as if to remind you that this was, and still is, a farming community. In fact, the name Lachania comes from the Greek word "Lachaniká" meaning Vegetables.
Gennadi village
Separated from the beach, the village lies along the main road with a sprinkling of tasty tavernas. There is a friendly, relaxed atmosphere for visitors to the village, with its traditional village houses nestled in charming little lanes. The village also has a number of amenities and shops including a small post office, a pharmacy and an ATM. There is also a regular bus service for those wanting to explore the island further. Italian architecture adds interest to the, otherwise, totally Greek atmosphere and it is well worth taking a look at the building that is now the Police Station which is a marvelous example of this.
An Olive Press Museum and natural spring water taps located around the village add to its traditional atmosphere. It is also worth visiting the byzantine churches of Ioannis Theologos and Agia Anastasia, which were built with construction material from the demolished tower of the Knights that existed in Gennadi.
Close by, in a place called Pano Vrissi, there is a cave, where archeologists have found artefacts dating back to pre-historic times.

Between April and the end of October most airlines offer a direct service. Out of season, only Aegean and Olympic airways operate with indirect flights, however this can be more than compensated by a stopover in the bustling city of Athens.
Those traveling from mainland Europe can travel by road or rail to Pireus harbour, just outside Athens, where a ferry can be caught directly to Rhodes. The journey is approximately 14 hours.

We stayed at Villa Stamos with 3 little children (8,6,2). We really enjoyed our stay. The kids were always busy in the pool, while the parents could enjoy the magnificent view of the sea. The villa is very private and fully equipped. We also enjoyed Plimmiri beach which is very nice and quite. It was also very interesting for us to visit the close villages (Kattavia, Lachania), and get exposed to greek food and a way of life. And of course my husband, who does kite surfing, really enjoyed surfing on Prasonisi. I would recommend villa Stamos for everyone who looks for privacy away from tourists and crowded hotels. |
