About the home

Villa Maiya boasts uninterrupted panoramic sea views and its own private plunge pool. It is ideal for families or couples and is fully equipped for a relaxing self-catering holiday in the sun. Just a 10 min stroll from the quiet blue flag beach and 400m from the amenities of the traditional Village of Gennadi.
Villa Maiya is a beautiful 2 bedroom holiday Villa with Magnificent views of the sea & mountains from all rooms. It is ideally placed as a base to explore the Island. Villa Maiya is a 10 min stroll to the beach with its pretty tavernas and is only a 400m stroll to the heart of the Village. The amenities in the Village include a well stocked supermarket with a butcher, a greengrocers, a tempting bakery, ATM, pharmacy, scooter hire and many restaurants & bars. The bus stop is also located in the main square. Villa Maiya is a new property designed to a very high standard which can be appreciated both inside and out.
Villa Maiya has its own private plunge pool and large patio area perfect for sunbathing, complete with comfortable sunloungers. Enjoy Al fresco dining with our traditional Greek BBQ and outdoor dining furniture, where you can sit under the pretty pergola and enjoy the peace. There is also a car parking space.
Inside, the Villa is fully air conditioned at no extra cost for a comfortable stay. The downstairs is open plan, spacious and light. The kitchen is fully fitted and well equipped. This leads into a dining area with a stone fireplace and dining furniture and then into the spacious lounge area. The lounge has 2 large sofas, one is a double sofa bed. Patio doors open out from here to the pool and patio.
The upstairs has 2 bedrooms one spacious double and one twin, they each have extensive wardrobes and large balconies with sea views.
Villa Maiya has a shower room and WC downstairs and a family bathroom and WC upstairs, both have shaving points.

Villa Maiya sleeps 4-6 people + cot (mamas& papas travel cot provided). It has 2 bedrooms - 1 double, 1 twin and 1 double sofa bed.

Available on request and free of charge we also have an extensive range of Infant equipment including a highchair, baby walker, Lindam flex-guard safety gate and a travel sterliliser.

All bed linen and bathroom towels are included which are changed weekly with the weekly housekeeping service.

There is a selection of books, games and DVDs for family entertainment and an I-pod speaker dock.
An iron, ironing board and clothes airer are also provided. Plastic picnic ware is also available for picnics on the beach.

Further details outdoors:
All windows have double glazing, outdoor shutters and insect screens. Both balconies have cane bistro sets with cushions. Sunloungers and an outdoor dining table & chairs are also provided. All patio doors open on a 'tilt' to be more secure especially if young children are present. We have a Traditional Greek brick BBQ equipped with cooking tools next to our pretty pergola complete with fairy lights.

The Villa has a fire extinguisher and fire blanket, smoke detectors and a basic first aid kit.
An extensive guest information pack is provided with emergency contact numbers and handy information about the Island.
An emergency call-out service is provided with English speaking assistance available 24 hours a day to give guests peace of mind.
Villa Maiya is non smoking.
Guests with young Children must be responsible for them at all times especially near the pool or balconies.
No diving in the pool.

Conditions

A 25% deposit is payable at the time of booking further details will be advised on the booking form. The final balance is due 8 weeks before your arrival date.
Changeover days are flexible and arrival time is from 16:00. The Villa must be vacated by 11:00 on the day of departure. Special arrival/departure arrangements are possible please ask for details.
We will hold the dates requested for 5 days to allow you to book flights.

Refreshing plunge pool

The Aegean Islands region

Rhodes is one of the Aegean Islands in Greece. It is the most popular of all the Greek Islands for good reason! It boasts magnificent beaches, dramatic scenery and has centuries of history just waiting to be explored. Rhodes enjoys over 300 days of sunshine a year with temperatures remaining pleasant year round. The averagage temperature in low to mid season is 25c and can rise to 35c-40c in high season which means the free air-conditioning throughout the villa can be a welcome relief!

The world famous town of Lindos with its cobbled streets and towering Acropolis and Rhodes Town (old and new) are both a sightseeing must. The people of Rhodes are friendly and hospitable and a wide variety of languages are spoken. The cuisine is of a very high standard in Rhodes, you will find both excellent local Greek food and International restaurants across the Island. The Island has a good transport system with affordable car hire readily available, a reliable bus service and an excellent taxi service.

The Rhodes / Gennadi area

Gennadi is a traditional year round village in the peaceful South of the Island with a wide range of amenities. It boasts an endless blue flag pebble beach and crystal clear, clean sea. The peaceful beach offers sun loungers and umbrellas for hire and has a selection of seafront tavernas. Villa Maiya is situated on an exclusive development of 9 properties each with private grounds and pools. It has a stunning mountain backdrop with direct access to walking areas.
It is just a 20 minute drive from magnificent Lindos with all its beautiful tourist attractions.The sandy blue flag beach and wide selection of restaurants/bars at Pefkos is only a 15 minute drive away. Further South you will find Prassonissi where two different seas meet (Aegean and Mediterranean), it is said you can stand on the beach and have one foot in each sea! Prassonissi is popular for kite surfing and other extreme watersports all of which are available to try if you dare! Sun seekers will love nearby Glystra beach and Kiotari bay which are ideal places to relax with a good book. If you like a bit more activity the Islands 18 hole golf course at Afandou is a 30-40 minute drive. The exciting waterpark and extensive range of watersports at Falaraki are just a further 5 minute drive. Rhodes Town is a tale of two cities! The UNESCO world heritage site of the old Town with its medieval castle and ancient churches, and the New Town with its modern shops and restaurants/bars are a mere hour away.

Low cost Flights available from all main UK and international airports to Rhodes Diagoras Airport.
All major Car hire companies operate from the airport, which can be pre-booked in advance, or we can recommend a reliable local car hire firm. It is a straightforward drive from the airport to Gennadi and we provide maps and directions for our guests who choose to drive down to Villa Maiya.
The Islands taxis are plentiful at the Airport, however we have the contact details of an English speaking local Driver who knows our Villa well and can be pre-booked for you at preferential rates.
The bus service also operates from nearby Rhodes Town to Gennadi.

“Perfect retreat, total relaxation” Fantastic location, well equipped villa, perfect splash pool - very welcoming in the heat! Local village offers good food, great value, and friendly faces. Nearby are gorgeous sandy beaches ( at Glystra), luxury hotels that allow day passes, Pefkos and Lindos are more built up if you want to up the pace a bit - Lindos by night is well worth a visit. Would highly recommend both the area and the villa - we travelled with 2 young children (5 & 3) and it was perfect - TV & DVD player, MP3/iPhone dock for music, games, books etc. The air conditioning was also a favourite!!! If you're after total relaxation, you'll find it here :-)

“Great Villa in a Quiet Location” The villa is quite large inside, with an open plan lounge, dining and kitchen flowing to an outdoor plunge pool, which was fantastic for the mid 30s heat of mid-summer. Upstairs are two good sized bedrooms, with comfortable beds and plenty of cupboard space, plus access to a communal balcony with sea view. The main bedroom also has its own small balcony. There is much-needed air conditioning throughout, with excellent doors and windows, with shutters that seal well against the heat. The villa is located about one minute from Gennadi, up a gravel track, and the turn into the complex of several villas is tight. Villa Maiya is at the end of the complex, and as there is no ability to turn around - reversing out takes some getting used to but is manageable. Gennadi has shops for basic provisons, and a couple of nice restaurants. The local beach is stoney, but has several restaurants overlooking the water. Larger villages with more facilities are less than 10 minutes drive away, and the fabulous Lindos is only 20 minutes. There's a lovely small, sandy beach 10 minutes away at Glystra, half way to Lindos, with calm waters and great for swimming. Whilst Gennadi may be remote from the action further north, it's a lovely quiet location, with easy access around the island with a car. Rhodes is not that big, and nowhere is more than an hour's drive away.

“Super Villa & excellent base for exploring the island of Rhodes” The villa was perfect for us, well equipped, comfortable and the location just right with uninterrupted views toward the sea. the air conditioning was very welcome at night. We spent equal amounts of time cooling off in the sea at the local beach and in the pool, Really enjoyed the late night Cocktail Beach Bar which had their own stargazing telescopes just a few Km down the road. Thoroughly recommended.
