The Gwynedd region

North Wales has a heritage as rich as its spectacular scenery with the mountains of Snowdonia, beautiful beaches and medieval castles. The area offers a range of opportunities from traditional cultural events, historical exploration and heritage sites to outdoor activities and sightseeing which always prove popular with families, outdoor sports enthusiasts and also those just looking for peace and tranquillity.

Numerous visitor attractions include Snowdonia National Park. The popular seaside resort of Llandudno, several World Heritage sites like the stunning Caernarfon Castle and the impressive Pontcysyllte aqueduct designed by Thomas Telford, there is the Mediterranean styled village of Portmeirion, not to mention the many art galleries, studios, museums and theatres which form part of the rich cultural heritage of this amazing country.

Rhiw

The Lleyn peninsula is a beautiful and peaceful area extending 30 miles into the Irish Sea from North West Wales, South West of the Isle of Anglesey. Notable for its natural beauty and large number of protected sites, including a National Nature Reserve at Cors Geirch, a National Heritage Coastline and a European Marine Special Area of Conservation, and 20 Sites of Special Scientific Interest. Much of the coastline and the characterful hills are part of the Lleyn Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Llyn Coastal Path, a long distance footpath, enables walkers to fully explore both coasts of the peninsula. The impressive and much photographed Nefyn golf course sits on the Northern side whilst the Southern aspect of the peninsula offers some excellent sailing opportunities from Pwhelli. The whole coastline is peppered with secluded coves and sandy beaches.
