The Villetta is on overlooking Rezzonico at 2 km from the lake shore and on higher grounds . It is a semi detached house with 130 m2 living space divided over 3 floors. It has a lovely furnished terrace for outside dining, sunbathing and relaxing. Right from your doorstep you can walk up into the woods , discover forgotten hamlets, or walk down to the lake side ( some 20 minutes).
The bay of Rezzonico has a gravel beach with green spots, around the medieval castle (inhabited) near the shore you can reach by foot some very charming secluded beaches.

The Lombardy / Lake Como Area
Villetta La Torre is on lake Como . Our summers are wonderful with a pleasant breeze. July is the hottest month ( 30 C) , Springtime starts in April, May and June are usually warmish, also September and very much loved by people not liking it too hot. Winters are bright with lots of sun shine and nearly no rain but cold, it may snow however once or twice and the snow vanishes near the lake but stays on the mountain tops. We do cross country ski higher up, and real skiing at 90 mins by car in St. Moritz, Madesimo or Bormio in Valtellina.
Lake Como has been an important through way for peoples coming and going north, pre Roman churches, medieval castles and look out towers are still te been seen.
Como is the capital of this region and has a very beautiful churches and historical places. The centre is worth to be visited. Today Como is known for its silk industry , look out for small shops with special bargains.
Rezzonico area
Rezzonico is one of the most charming villages on lake Como. A castle on the waterside dominates the village. We have secluded beaches which you can reach only by foot or boat and a large gravel-stoney bay. The village is away from the traffic, it has a small supermarket, pizzeria, bank and pharmacy. For extensive shopping we go to Menaggio ( 4km). This has a lively boulevard with a ferry boat crossing the lake ( Bellagio is just in front) , narrow streets, cosy piazza's , trendy shops. The oldest golf course is in Menaggio with splendid views on higher grounds.
Lake Como is 50 km long and west of Menaggio where the lake splits in two branches. We have a strong breeze in the afternoons and is a paradise for surfers and sailing boats. International competitions are also held here. The water is clear and clean and good for swimming .
The mountains around the lake are 2000 m high and invite hikers but also leisurely walking. You will discover forgotten villages, churches. Good roads lead up to "viewpoints" for those who prefer to see the sights without long walks. At the end of 19th century rich people from Milan built their summer houses most of them can be visited inside but also the beautiful gardens such as Villa Carlotta, Melzi, Balbianello.
Dayouting to Milan( 40 mins by train from Como), Lugano with lake Lugano 25km away, maybe even Venice
