This apartment is set within a small community of stylish homes on the sea front, with garden and barbecue to enjoy. Although the buildings are built to modern specifications they offer traditional features, creating new yet rustic dwellings in a seaside setting, close to the local village with its taverna and shops.
The local village is within walking distance. The village has great tavernas and good bakery. From most of the tavernas, one can look down onto a beautiful village harbour with a stunning beach. This means that you can sit in the taverna having lunch while watching the kids playing and swiming on the beach

The Crete region
Rethymno Greece is an area full of magnificent beaches, interesting archaeological sites and Byzantine churches, lovely villages, lively resorts and its capital, the town of Rethymno, is a very attractive, charming city full of sumptuous Venetian architecture.
Taken from classical Greek, the name Panorama indicates exactly its basic characteristic which is its magnificent all-round views of the bay of Chania and the historic islet of Thodorou.
In addition the spectacular White Mountains of Crete overlook the green valleys surrounding the villa.
There are various festivals throughout the year, such as the Renaissance Festival, the Cretan wine festival, the Rethymnon Carnival and the feast of Klidonas.
There is also a great array of flora and fauna to enjoy. The visitor may find natural treasures that have existed on the island for centuries and which were depicted in Minoan frescoes such as the sea lily ( pancratium maritinum) along the coastal zone, sea turtles "caretta caretta" which lay their eggs on the beaches and may even see the Eleanora's falcon "falcon eleonore" which migrates from Africa in the summer months.
Lastly, in the gorges, the visitor, if he is lucky, may come across the famous Cretan dittany and other fragrant plants of Crete.
Rethymno / Panormo area
Panormo is a typical example of a Greek village, whitewashed buildings gleaming in the mid day sun, a mini-maze of back streets sloping gently down to the small harbour and pretty beaches.
There’s the traditional village square, with tavernas and Kafenions acting host to the backgammon players where all day waiters serve ouzo and tiny plates of olives and cheese. Once a thriving harbour and a home to wealthy merchants, the old dilapidated houses are being renovated and restored with great elegance.
This is the Greece of haphazardly painted blue doors and rough washed walls, behind which hidden courtyards and gardens display potted plants and widow’s dress in black – timeless!
In and around Panormo you’ll find small beaches of smooth sun-warmed pebbles, sandy coves, some with water sports facilities, fishing, diving etc. There is a golf course only 55 minutes away.
For shopping the village has mini markets, a bakery, butchers, gift shops, post office, car hire etc. Driving time to Iraklion airport is 45 minutes and 65 minutes to Chania. There are buses, which go regularly to Rethymno, Heraklion and Chania making Panormo an ideal base to explore many parts of Crete.
How to get there
