About the home

Brand new in 2007, Villa Grace is perfectly placed for the quietest holiday but close to all amenities. One double, one twin and a single bed on the gallery sleeps five in comfort.

Fully fitted kitchen including dishwasher and luxury lounge with flat screen TV, DVD and satellite. Washing machine also available for use in first floor bathroom. DVDs and children's' games and all towels and bedding provided. This luxury two bathroom home is heaven on earth.

Private first floor terrace with mountain and sea views with table and chairs. Downstairs an open terrace and a further closed terrace with white teak furniture for 10.

Villa Grace has a garden newly planted with palms, olive and a lemon trees. Poolside furniture also provided and the property has the benefit of full underfloor heating and air-conditioning to all bedrooms. It is a place we are sure you will want to return to again and again. The pool is maintained daily for your safety and comfort.

Facilities

Three sets of double sliding doors allow the L shaped kitchen/living area to open up to the terraces, garden and pool. The galleried lounge gives open space and light and the marble staircase is cool to bare feet. All the rooms have Italian tile floors and the fully tiled bathrooms have an endless supply of hot water from solar energy.

No expense has been spared in furnishing and equipping Villa Grace for your every comfort. The property is available for rental 12 months of the year. In the winter time under floor heating and a traditional open fire-place are provided for your warmth and comfort.

Further details outdoors:
Sit on the upstairs terrace and just unwind. The views from this terrace are simply breathtaking of the mountains and the sea. In fact wake up and from the first floor bedroom pinch yourself to make sure what you see is truly not a dream.

A traditional Greek barbecue sits in the garden and an extensive area around the pool allows you to sunbathe and dip in comfort. Stay within the garden for some quiet and privacy or nip down to the beach and sit in Pavlos's beach canteen.

Sip on an ice cold beer for a couple of euros or enjoy Koukavia, savlaki, greek salad for next to nothing. Rent two sunbeds and a parasol for 4 euros and just chill, in fact we think you will chill like you have never chilled before. Villa Grace..........heaven on earth

For larger parties we own adjoining properties which are also advertised on this website. We can accommodate up to 25 people in total, Villa Grace, Apartment Caitlin, Apartment Helen are all next to each other

The Crete region

Situated on the fantastic 6km sandy beach near georgopoulis and less than 3km from the fabulous Lake Kournas, Villa Grace has it all. A walk down to the village bakery for freshly baked bread or a short ride to georgopoulis for restaurants and bars...it really is up to you.

Rethymnon with it's fantastic venetian architecture,massive choice of shops and numerous bars and tavernas is only 20 minutes away. Visit the harbour in Chania, a quiet taverna in Gerani enjoy a quiet drink, or drive into the mountains and enjoy a snack Greek mezes with the locals.

The mountains loom up high to the south and the cooling breeze is a welcome addition to the high summer temperatures. Crete is a sun lovers dream.

The Rethymno / Cavros area

Easter in Crete is certainly an experience not to be missed.. Walking through the streets with the candles, the parades, a church service and then fireworks has it all. Turning the lamb on the spit is traditional and you are likely to be asked to join in.

Lake Kournas is the only freshwater lake on Crete, The waters shine the most spectacular turquoise you could ever see. Pedaloes allow you to swim or watch in awe the fresh water turtles. Lining the lake are numerous tavernas that serve splendid food and refreshments

Cavros has many shops, restaurants, a children's playground, butcher, baker and is within easy walking distance of the house.

Rethymnon has it all. Clubs, bars, restaurants, marina, port and lots of shops. Jewellery is popular in Crete and Chrissi Gallerou is one of the best. Tell them you know Philip & Esther and watch that special price become even less. The same at Taverna Loggia in the Old Town. Our friends are your friends...enjoy.

Visit Spili for the springs, consider the Samaria Gorge or if a little more idle drive south to Plakias. You pass through a fantastic gorge on this route and if interested in history Preveli monastery is a must. If you are feeling energetic visit palm beach near Preveli or drive another day to Heraklion and spend a day at the water park.

Crete, you can smell the herbs, the flora and fauna is breathtaking and the locals just love the British. Villa Grace...you will not be disappointed.

Fly to either Chania or Heraklion International Airports with many carriers. Out of season think of flying to Athens and take advantage of daily flights to Crete. Ferries also available daily from Piraeus/mainland Greece. The holiday villa is approximately 1 hour 20 minutes from Heraklion or 40 minutes from Chania. Taxis available from both as is the local bus service which stops on the main highway close to the villa.

Car Hire available at the airport or in the village of Cavros which is very close to the villa. Autoforce 00306947375040 irini@autoforce.gr will arrange to either pick you up from the airport free of charge or leave you a car for immediate use on your arrival, which ever you prefer. Please mention Philip & Esther from Idyllic when you book. Taxis could be used for transport to surrounding areas but car hire recommended for this villa.
