Home description
Villa Agni is situated in Kastri, a small village in the altitude of 360m, in the foothills of Psiloritis mountain. The village was one of the military defense centres of Crete during the Byzantine era and the Venetian occupation. A romantic traveller could easily imagine the Ancient Greek goddess Artemis being worshiped in such a house. Built on the edge of Koukoumianos gorge, it was the owner’s George Hatzidakis, birthplace. The renovation of the house finished in 1995. It is a comfortable, 150 years old, house with elements borrowed from the noble houses of its time.
