About the home

The apartment comprises one double bedroom, one twin bedroom (both with large fitted wardrobes) and a double sofa bed in the lounge area. The bathroom has a full bath with electric shower.
A communal pool and barbecue are directly in front of the apartment. A private pebble beach is approximately 80 – 100 metres away, with other beaches within walking distance. Water sports are available locally.
The small seaside village of Panormo lies between Heraklion (about 45 min) and Rethymno (about 15 min) on the north coast of Crete. Visitors have always been welcomed into a warm and friendly traditional atmosphere, which the locals retain to the present day. Panormo is ideal for children, not only because they are given a warm welcome in the village, but because there are small sand and pebble beaches and shallow waters. This authentic Cretan village with its narrow streets and bright geraniums is the perfect place for those who want to escape a little and enjoy the peace and tranquility of Cretan life. There is a good selection of cafes, traditional tavernas, a butcher, a baker and shops where you can sample the local food and drinks at reasonable prices.

• What is the cancellation policy?
Within 15 days after reservation: full refund. From the 16th day after reservation, until the 15th day before arrival day: no refund, unless the apartment is rented (from people other then the clients): in which case only the deposit will be refunded. The last 15 days (Last minute cancellation): no refund.

• What about, towels and other equipment?
Yes, bedclothes and towels are offered, as well as all equipment (beds, electric devices...) are at your disposal. The apartment is fully equipped with appliances, linen and towels (not beach towels)

• Are electricity and heating fees included?
Yes, they are included. Unless specified for winter rentals.

• What are the late checkout procedures?
With regards to late checkout we are flexible with your luggage however we can only be sure closer to the departure dates.
We may have another arrival the same day and they would need to check in. This can only be arranged a few days prior to departure.

Conditions

A 20% deposit required on booking. Final payment 8 weeks before holiday unless last minute booking.

The Crete region

Panormo is the site of an old port using during Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine times, and there is still much to see from the past. The beautiful surrounding area is ideal for walkers who wish to explore the countryside. There are buses, which go regularly to Rethymno or to Heraklion (about 50min journey) making Panormo an ideal base from which to explore many parts of Crete. For culturally interested outings you may choose to visit the Monasteries of Arkadi and Prevely, and the world famous Minoan Palace of Knossos. Otherwise you may wish to explore the wilderness wonders of the Samaria Gorge, or simply take time to visit the mountain villages, for example the village of Margarites where traditional pottery and wood carving are sill being produced

The Rethymno / Panormo area

There are lots of places to visit in and around Panormo. Hire a car and drive up into the mountains and visit the traditional Cretan villages. There are water sports at one of the local beaches within Panormo town.

Fishing boats can be hired at the small picuresque harbour by the day or hour.


Visit Rythymno by car 15 Minutes, or ,30 minutes on the local bus service . This is a beautiful old town with lots of shopping, Tavernas, bars and nightclubs if you want them.

“Beautiful apartment with all home comforts” I have stayed in this apartment several times and would definitely recommend it for families or groups of friends or even for a romantic getaway. There is everything you would need in the kitchen for a self catering holiday. There is a lot of wardrobe space in both bedrooms and a television and dvd with choices of dvd's for children and adults. The pool is so convenient in front of the apartment especially if have young children who are in and out of the pool all day. It is very quiet as a lot of the apartments are residential. The sea views are amazing be it having breakfast on the patio in the morning to the amazing sunsets in the evening. Panormo is a short walk away and has many tavernas and local shops and a beautiful safe beach. Mr & Mrs Tomlinson have put a lot of personal touches to the apartment to give it all the home comforts you need. Love it, and looking forward to going back again next year.
