Villa Castle of Maroulas is in one of the most historically preserved villages of Crete, just outside of Rethymnon. The village has obvious influences of all cultures that have passed through there during the last 800 years.

The Castle of Maroulas villa just 7 km from Rethymno, is located in the northeast edge of the village Maroulas, built in a location of utmost strategic importance which justifies the unrestricted / unlimited breathtaking view.

To reach the villa you follow a lovely path 30 meters long full of arches and old buildings that give you the feeling of walking into another era.

Arriving at the main gate you come across a large courtyard enclosed by high walls, within which lies a cluster of old stone houses renovated between arches and an old well. To the left of the courtyard rises the villa Castle of Maroulas.

An old door leads to our own yard (50m). The villa is stone built with strong characteristics of a distant era and a view that overlooks the endless blue sea, the mountain Psiloritis, and one of the largest olive groves of the Mediterranean.

The two-storey villa is 125 square meters which can accommodate up to 6 people. It includes 2 bedrooms (1 master), 1 bathroom and a 3rd sleeping area in the mezzannine-attic. On the ground floor there are 2 Venetian arches, connecting the kitchen to the living room and dining room. The kitchen also has a renovated old fireplace. In the living room, where remnants of an old turkish bath were found, a small indoor pool (6 sqm) is built overlooking the courtyard. The staircase leads to the master bedroom, and another door leads to the upper terrace.
