Annaview is an amazing apartment located in the top of a hill with breathtaking view to the bay of Plakias.
It is an ideal choice for relaxing and pleasant holidays away from the noisy resorts, combining breathtaking view to the sea and the mountains. The colours of the sunsets from AnnaView Apartment balcony are unforgettable !
The apartment can host up to 4 persons while the kitchen is fully equipped, providing to the customers all the means to prepare, serve and enjoy in private their breakfasts and meals: Refrigerator, coffee maker, sandwich maker, cooker, toaster, water boiler.
Small beds (cradles) are also available for families with little babies.
You will be surprised with the scholastic cleaning of the apartment is daily base.

The climate of Crete is probably the mildest in Europe. The strong northwesterly wind, the meltemi, moderates even the hottest months of July and August. Rainfall is rare during the summer months. Autumn is Crete's mildest season, when temperatures are often higher than in spring. The mountains that run across the island act as a barrier to the weather, often creating different conditions in northern and southern Crete.

The Rethymno / Plakias area

Annaview apartment located on the top of a hill in 'Mirthios' village with panoramic view to the bay of 'Plakias'.
The distance from 'Mirthios' to the beach of 'Plakias' is about 2.5 km or 5 min driving. There is also a path starting from the centre of the village passing by the olive trees farms down to Plakias where the distance is about 1,5 km and you need less than 20 min to go on foot.
In a distance of 3 to 10km from the apartments you can find 5 more amazing beaches:
- Preveli palm beach.
- Damnoni.
- Skinaria.
- Amoudi.
- Souda.
In the village you can find:

“Outstanding!” We spent 4 days in this wonderful place. The best holiday apartment one could think of - very comfortable, fully equipped kitchen, beautiful vistas over the bay of Plakias, and most importantly kind hosts that are there for you whenever you need them. Highly recommended!!!

“Sublime!” What can I say?...Eri, Anna, Yiannis and all the family, thank you for making our month at Annaview sublime! We had the best time imaginable...the quality of our apartment, the location, the generous and kind spirit of our host family left us wanting for nothing. We explored Crete and loved coming back to our comfortable "home", and a warm welcome, each day. You have each gone above and beyond expectations to ensure we were happy and comfortable (and well fed!) , and we will recommend a holiday with you to anyone wanting to restore and rejuvenate themselves. You are stars!!

“Wonderful winter holidays in Crete at Annaview apartments” We stayed in Mirthios at Annaview for 5 weeks. We had booked there in advance because of the amazing discount of 60%, the wonderful Plakias area, the huge and nice apartment and the facilities that had been offered online (internet, kitchen, heating, etc). The contact was astonishing friendly starting with our first e-mail. We loved these 5 weeks: winter time is a very special season there with fantastical views, empty beaches, gorgeous landscapes, a palpable peace in the air, and very very friendly locals who in our case were also preparing for and celebrating Christmas and the New Year. Apartments: Our apartment was a huge (50 sqm) room with all the facilities you can think of. A complete kitchen, huge TV, very fast internet connection (!!!). What's really important in winter time: a super heating system that warmed the room in minutes. (extra oil costs calculated after the stay: no problem, very fair price) A lovely roofed balcony with an unbelievable view (check out the pictures on the website!!). The service was amazing; Anna and Eri clean the rooms very often and very unobtrusively. The whole apartment complex is one amazing site with palm trees in front of the balconies... Tavernas: Next to Annaview you'll find the Dionyssos Taverna run by Eri's and Yiannis's cousin. In our opinion this is the best taverna around that is open in winter time... Dionyssos - Mirthios, wonderful Greek food Iliomainollis - at the end of Kotsalifou Gorge, very good Greek food Ifigenia - at the crossroads Plakias/Mirthios/Lefkogia - run by Monika from Switzerland, super world vegetarian food Taverna Mariou - good traditional food Sifis - Plakias, everything from pita to traditional food Winter time: Lonely beaches, wonderful walks, peaceful time! Temperatures from 10 to 20 degrees. Rain and wind: but very often the sun comes out and has strength! The weather changes relatively fast. And clouds do never stay in one place in South Crete.... We went to the beaches many times. Swimming is possible... even if a little fresh... There are almost no tourists. If you find some, you'll love them, because they are Crete lovers like you. Plakias is pretty quiet in the winter time, but you'll find: a few cafeterias that are open, three supermarkets and the grocery, the bioladen/health food shop and at least one open taverna. The journey (Frankfurt/Heraklion with one stop in Thessaloniki) was really long but very much worth it! The flight itself was cheaper than the biggest bargain flight we ever had to Crete.... Excellent!

“Anna View absolutely the top.” We already visited Anna View twice and this year we have booked foor the third time. Top: is the view over Plakias bay, sitting on your spacious terrace with good furniture even with a relaxing sunbed. Top: the apartment itself, very good bed, very well equiped kitchen, comfortable shower, warm water never a problem. Top: the family Maragkoudakis, who owns the complex, very welcoming make you feel like family,personal welcome,even in the middle of the night (because of late flight) with cool drinks. Top: the way the reservation is done by Yiannis, always correct and honest, very quick in reply at your mail. Good information about each apartment. With pictures and what is important you get what you see. No hidden surprises Top: cleaning evryday and 3 / 4 days clean sheets and towels. Top: price/quality absolutely wonderful. Top: surroundings, beautiful beaches, very nice little village Myrthios, with for or five very good tavernas all with good till super view over Plakias. By day and by night. One even on 30 meters! Top: South Crete itself so beautiful and relaxing. We will strongly recommend this complex to everyone, you will feel at home away from home. Thanks to the family. “magic time away from noisy cities” The apartment is gorgeous - it combines style and comfort and gives you a feeling of staying in your own home. Very thoughtful in each detail. The views from the apartment are just spectacular, you get wide panorama of teh sha and majestic mountains. You'll need a car there though....BUT the owners live next door and are extremely helpfull

“Amazing place to stay” Apartments. Clean, tidy, plentiful amenities. Very comfortable bed, air con included and the most wonderful views we have ever experienced. Fresh towels and bed linen. The apartments were spotlessly clean. Staff. Family owned and run and this shows in a very positive way. We booked over 12 months in advance as we were planning to get married. All communications were via email in very good English. I am ashamed to say i have no idea on where to begin in Greek and it is very humbling to communicate with such a warm and friendly family. Upon arrival, we were met in person and found within was a welcome bottle of wine, a cold beer and a plate of biscuits and cake. Yiannis has been an absolute diamond, even assisting with finding a local photographer for us ! Location. The apartments are within the village of Mirthios, this is close enough to the beaches, of which there are many and good for children, snorkling and views, depending which one you use. There is parking for hire cars at the apartments and on the adjacent road. Mirthios has 4 Tavernas, of which we regularly used 3. Panorama - good food, clean and fantastic food. Vrisi is also worth a mention, can take a bit of finding and there is a steep path, but the views are amazing as is the food. There are a couple of shops within Mirthios, but no bakery or cashpoint. These can be found in Plakias. Plakias does what it says on the tin. A good number of restaurants, bakeries, butcher, fishmonger and supermarkets etc. There is a fantastic restaurant that is worth a visit - Sirocco, its on the road out of Plakias towards Souda and on the edge of Plakias. It has a wonderful view of the bay and sunsets, plus the best food. The service is professional, it definately sets itself apart from the rest of the tavernas. The overall location is south of Crete and whilst its approx 1hr to 1.5hrs from the airports, you gain a slower, more traditional part of Greece. The wind was passionate but was a welcome distraction from the heat. Souda is a good beach to visit when the wind is up and the furthest taverna was the better of the 2. The grilled sardines were outstanding. The area was cosmopolitan, with tourists from Greece, Holland, Germany, France and only a few Brits. No egg and chips with a pint of Stella for the breakfast brigade. We cannot recommend these apartments enough !!

“einfach wunderbar” Wir durften zwei Wochen in einem dieser wunderschönen Apartments geniessen. Die Wohnung ist toll (liebevolle, passende Einrichtung), die Anlage einzigartig (klein, aber oho - sauber und gepflegt), der Ausblick umwerfend (man stelle sich schönste Sonnenuntergänge vor - direkt vor der Haustür). Alle drei Tage gibt es neue Frottier- und Bettwäsche. Die kleine Küche und das Bad werden täglich geputzt. Die Familie ist freundlich und hilfsbereit, jedoch nicht neugierig oder aufdringlich. Ein Aufenthalt in den AnnaView Apartments ist absolut zu empfehlen.

“Super!” Deuxième séjour à Anna's apartments: calme, confort, propreté et vue magnifique... les studios sont fonctionnels et très bien aménagés. L'accueil est chaleureux avec des petites attentions qui donnent envie de revenir. Une excellente adresse avec un très bon rapport qualité/prix.

“superbe” Nous avons été ravis de séjourner dans ce lieu calme avec une vue magnifique sur PLAKIAS. Les propriétaires sont absolument charmantes et plein de sourire, toujours dévouées pour nous. Si vous séjournez chez ANNA, il faut absolument aussi découvrir leur taverne SIROCCO sur PLAKIAS- Nous garderons un excellent souvenir de ce lieu et de cette rencontre.
