Only 500m from the sandy beach of Sfakaki and 300m to a four star hotel, owned by the owner of this charming villa, where guests can enjoy a 30% discount on all food and drink, Villa Rhea is the perfect place in which to enjoy a memorable family holiday.

Villa Rhea is a modern, contemporary villa with a spacious, open-plan living area providing ample space for the whole family to relax. There is a comfortably furnished seating area with open fireplace leading into a light and airy dining area with large sliding patio doors leading out onto the terrace. There is a separate study area equipped with computer, telephone, photocopier, scanner and fax for villa guests’ use at no extra charge. The modern kitchen is fully equipped with everything necessary for a self-catering villa holiday and has a breakfast table and separate breakfast bar.

The villa has four spacious bedrooms, all with air conditioning. The master bedroom has a walk-in closet and en suite bathroom. There are two further double bedrooms and a twin bedroom which share two full family bathrooms. There is a further shower room on the ground floor.

The villa is centrally heated throughout, making this a perfect year round holiday villa destination.

Steps lead upto a large, covered terrace which serves as the main access to the villa. Large patio doors lead from the villa onto the elevated terraces and gardens and there are various balconies on the upper level from which to enjoy the spectacular views. The rectangular 8 x 4m private swimming pool is accessed by integral steps and the surrounding terrace is equipped with sunloungers. There is an outdoor shower. The villa has an in-built barbecue and patio dining furniture, and there is a separate children’s play area.

The villa has a private parking space and garage.

The Crete region

Although Crete is well-developed for the tourist industry and has everything the modern holiday-maker could wish for, the islanders maintain much of their culture and many of their traditions. There are still villages from a quieter, more peaceful age where shepherds tend their flocks and the way of life is centuries old.

Sample some of the fabulous Cretan cuisine, prepared from fresh, locally grown produce at a local taverna washed down, of course, by a glass of the local wine. Crete is known for its ancient artefacts and has a rich and varied history spanning many civilisations and it is believed that Crete is the birthplace of the Greek god, Zeus.

For the more active holidaymaker there is a range of activities and water sports on offer. Visit one of Crete’s water parks for a day of family fun; learn to water-ski, scuba dive or go snorkelling amongst the wide range of marine species that live along the coastline.

For those preferring to spend their days on dry land there is fishing or horse-riding, golf, mountain climbing and abseiling into one of the spectacular gorges that slice the landscape or, of course, simply relaxing with a good book on one of the many sandy beaches.

The Rethymno / Sfakaki area

Nestled amongst olive groves, the village of Sfakaki is ideally located only 500m from the glorious, sandy Alkionis Beach and enjoys all the amenities of smaller, quieter, Cretan beach resort. There is a four star hotel only 300m from the villa where guests can enjoy a 30% discount on all food and drinks. Also nearby is a selection of family tavernas and shops and the nearest supermarket is only 500m away.

The surrounding countryside is ideal for those wishing to get away from it all and explore the “real” Crete, and there are architectural treasures such as the Sfakaki Monastery to explore nearby. The nightlife and shopping of the Venetian port town of Rethymno is only 12km away and can be reached on the local bus service.
