The Crete region

Crete is the largest Greek island and the fifth largest in Mediterranean sea. It has four prefectures with a population of over 6 hundred thousand people. It is the home of the earliest Civilization of Europe, the Minoan. The birthplace of Zeus, the Minotaur the labirynth of Knossos, the stepping stone of Alexander the Great down to Egypt, the Roman empire, the Crusaders and of course this island provided refuge after a great storm to Saint Paul. It is a mountainous island riddled with gorgeous gorges, crystal clear waters, wild flowers, birds of prey, starry nights with red and golden seizzling full moons. Round the corner from where you are situated in Vederi Estate you have the opportunity to ramble in one of the famous Cretan gorges, the Vederi gorge.

Rethymno is the third in size city of Crete. The city of dolphins with a population of under 50 thousand. The University majors in humanitarian studies, psychology and art. Rethymno is known as the city of culture and finance. Hence the year begins with its first festivity the carnival that attracts more than 10 thousand visitors every year from all over the world. A celebration of music, spring, love, nature and joyful life. Next reknown festival is the wine festival, the Renaissance festival with concerts and plays and artists known worldwide such as the Bolsoi ballet, Novalis, the Opera of Bejing, Vim Mertens, and a long list of famous artists have performed in the Venetian fort of Rethymno. The Mediterranean cultural and musical festival, ecclesiastical and baroque music, jazz, cycling festivals, beach racing Marathons. Logger head sea turtle rescuing for adults and children. Rethymno might be a small city but is very colourful, embracing and capturing.

"A little paradise close to the city, so far away from the real day life."

Vedari Estate is located in beautiful Cretan nature, only 15 minutes far away from Rethymno city. Staying there is a really pleasure. From the first moment we enjoy the place privacy, great hospitality and feel like home. We had unforgettable moments there and relaxing time. We choice Vederi Estate every year for our summer holidays since 2010 and we wish to be there again. Excellent vacation for summer and winter time as well, especially for people who love nature excursions.

"Great Extended Holiday Villa"

We very much enjoyed our stay at Vederi Estate. The villa was beautiful, perfectly maintained, and delightfully furnished. In addition, the swimming pool was sparkling clean and perfectly treated. We highly recommend this property to anyone, especially families, who wish solitude and distance from the faster paced coastal destinations, without sacrificing quick and easy access to the city when needed. The location is ideal for an extended stay with easy day trips to various points of interest.

For excursions to other parts of the island, this villa could easily be used as a centrally located base, leaving most belongings safely behind, while spending a few nights in a hotel elsewhere. It's always nice to return " home" after an excursion elsewhere on the island. And, I must say we truly did feel at home as the owner and his family made us feel as though we belonged there. Wnen we did have a minor problem with the washer it was immediately attended to by a professional plumber. Moreover, even though there was a brand new coffee maker in the kitchen, we preferred a coffee press and so the owner's wife immediately purchased one and had it delivered in time for our first morning's breakfast along with a delicioius batch of local cookies and cakes. We were truly impressed by the great welcome we received at Vederi Estate.

Again, it is with pleasure that we recommend Vederi Estate. We are certain you will absolutely love the place!
