About the home

Maravel Apartments is situated in the middle of an extended sandy beach with the inland area covered in olive groves that extend far south until the end of the horizon and the surrounding hills, and the seafront beginning just in front of the apartments and extending to the north, a lovely and typical Cretan landscape.

This scenery offers lovely trails for a dedicated walker and sea sport opportunities for a holiday swimmer. The whole rural area however, is beautifully organized with modern hotel and accommodation complexes, tavernas, plenty of shops and a lot of attractions that promise a wonderful stay for the vacationer.

The apartment consists of one bed room and a living room sleeping 4 people. There are 3 apartments of that size. A 4th apartment consists of two bedrooms and a living room accommodading up to 6 people.

The open and garden area of Maravel Apartments and Adele Mare hotel( in the complex of which the Apartments are situated )is more then 20 acres.

Conditions

A 25% of rental fee is due to secure written confirmation of booking.
This down payment is refundable if you cancel booking within 7 days of receiving written confirmation. Rest of the rental is payable on spot.
Short term lets: minimum 2 days.

Customers are kindly requested to avoid smoking inside the apartments. Please prefer balconies.

The Crete region

Geographically Crete is located in the southernmost edge of Greece and Europe. It is an island of long history which extends back to the neolithic period. World famous is it's naval power and civilization back to the first millennium BC,quite earlier then that of classical Greece.

Ruins of this civilization are of particular interest for the holidaymaker in the island.Crete is in general a mountains land covered mainly of olive groves and vineyards, hence it's main products :oil and wine of excellent quality.It has a mild Mediterranean climate.

The Rethymno area

Rethymno,built in the place of ancient Rythimna is a modern town with a lot of attractions. Local places of interest: Fortetza the Venetian Castle in the north end of the town and the Venetian Port, Arcadi a medieval monastery famous for it's participation in the Cretan revolution against the Othoman ocupation, Preveli another orthodox monastery in the south coast of Rethymno Prefecture.

Fly to Heraklion International Airport(70km east of Maravel Apartments) or Chania International Airport(70km west of Maravel Apartments).
Flights available from most major European cities.
Car hire available from agencies at the Airport.
Local buses run regularly between the City of Heraklion or Chania to Rethymno(7km west of Maravel Apartments).
There are always local taxis available at the Airport - fare should be no more than 90EUR from both Airports to Maravel Apartments.

“Second time to the apartment and not the last” We stayed here when our children were 10 and 13 and stayed again this year which was 5 years later. Thank fully our experience was every bit as good as the first time around. It's often a gamble trying to re create a holiday. We were not disappointed. The owner and his wife live nearby and make you very welcome. The apartments are functional, simple and clean, and superbly located between the nearby hotel pool and the sea. The pool is excellent and the sea and quite beach is 30 seconds from the apartment. We will be back again soon. Thank you Mr and Mrs Maravelakis for a lovely time. I'd like to have stayed to water the lawns. What a lovely job.

“Marvelous Maravel apartments” My family (2 adults & 3 chld.) stayed in two one-room apartments in Maravel Apartments complex in July-August 2012. During our vacations we were provided with all necessary service and facilities to feel comfortable: regular cleaning of the apartment, changing of bed-linen and towels twice a week. We appreciated the location of the apartments having the seashore and a large swimming pool just a few steps away from our place and a variety of souvenir shops and taverns situated nearby. Maravel Apartment is located in an easy-to-reach place not far from a number of different historical and natural sites that make your vacations more exciting. Above all we were moved with the hospitality of the owner Mr. Polychronis and his wife Ms. Ioanna. They really surrounded us with care and attention and were always there to meet all our needs. Mr. Polychronis is a man with rich life experience, a person you can always talk to and at the same time he is very delicate and never steps into your personal space. We had wonderful vacations and recommend this place to everyone who is looking both for seaside recreation and touristic exploration of Crete.

“Peaceful paradise” We had an excellent time as the location was ideal for us. The nearness of the sea (40m), the friendliness of the proprietors, the short distance to the main town of Rethymno and its night life, the shops in the immediate area made it a wonderful holiday.
