Home description
Villa Melitta is a noble house built by George Hatzidakis. He used all his research into traditional architecture and put all his love into the house. The project was finished in 2001. In the middle of a 5000 sq.m fruit grove, rises a small palace, reminding us of a Venetian villa. Melitta is situated just outside of the village of Melidoni, in a quiet environment with a broad and beautiful view of the Tallaia mountains and Psiloritis. There is a wide variety of trees in its huge garden – orange, olive, pear, apple, and peach trees – offering fruits throughout the year. There are also flowers and organically grown vegetables in the backyard of the house. The house covers 220 sq.m. and there are 4 bedrooms – 2 on the ground floor and two on the upper floor – which can accommodate 8 persons, or even 10 if you use the two sofabeds of the sitting room. It has a tasteful interior and there are two verandahs on the upper floor, offering you a choice of the view you prefer.

The Crete region
By far the largest of the Greek Islands. Crete is the most southerly Greek Isle and as a sun, sea and sand destination it is hard to beat, with fine beautiful sandy beaches scattered throughout the island. If its history you like, then Crete is full of world class archeological sites. Don't miss an excursion to the Samaria Gorge with its fantastic scenery.
Rethymnon
This resort is dominated by its venetian fortress and sleepy fishing harbour. An endless stretch of sand and shingle beach, great shopping and numerous restaurants, bars and tavernas.
Agios Nikolaos
Was once built by the Venetians around an allegedly bottomless lake, it is now a cosmopolitan town with a small pebble beach. The resort has developed into one of Crete's most popular destinations. Most of the activity is focussed around the harbour where tourists and locals alike enjoy the atmosphere.
Elounda
The resort of Elounda with its back drop of mountains is situated around its small harbour with an array of good fish restaurants, shops and a man made beach.
Platanias
This resort, 6 miles west of Chania, has developed over the years into quite a lively resort. It boasts a good choice of shops, cafes and trendy bars and good quality restaurants. The beach is also lovely here with a good choice of watersports on offer.
Bali
This resort has lovely bays which surround the fabulous mountain scenery. Good choice of Restaurants, few cafes to sit and watch the world go by. A small selection of shops, supermarkets and souvenir shops.
Some of the smaller and more traditional resorts are also well worth a visit -
Margarita - Beautiful inland town, famous for its pottery. Spili - Just a really nice traditional village. Panormos - This cute, traditional village with its small harbour is well worth a visit. Falasana - Has a stunning beach. Elafonisos - This beautiful pink sandy beach is a really popular scenic spot.

One of the most beautiful and important mountain villages, with tradition in weaving, healthy Cretan products and … fresh air. * Nida. It is situated above Anogia. You can see the cave in which Zeus was born, according to Greek mythology. * Moni Arkadiou. A historic monastery. * Moni Vossakou. (monastery) * Rethymno

Further details indoors: Villa Melita is a lovely stone detached villa set amongst lawned gardens and many fruit trees with its large pool taking pride of the place to the front of the property and catching the sun all day. The heart of the village with its pretty tavernas, bar and mini market is a short walk away, whilst more varied shops can be found in nearby Perama just 3 miles away.
Reached via a short drive through a gated entrance and up to a large parking area. The front door leads straight into a most elegant, comfortably furnished split level living area in Cretan style with high beamed ceilings, open stone fireplace, satellite TV (limited channels) and DVD. Two further steps then lead up through a natural archway to the fully equipped kitchen/dining area, which has dishwasher, microwave oven and there is a washing machine in the adjacent utility room. Patio doors lead from the lounge to the front covered terrace, gardens and pool.
An inner hall then leads to two of the four air-conditioned bedrooms. This is a pretty double with full bathroom en-suite and the second a twin with shower room adjacent.
A marble staircase then leads to the first floor and a small second lounge area with TV. Radiating from here is a twin bedroom with patio doors onto a small balcony with wonderful views of the mountain range behind and this has a shower room with WC adjacent. Finally the master double bedroom has four poster bed, an attractive bathroom en-suite and patio doors leading onto a large terrace with views over the pool and gardens. There is a wide variety of trees in its huge garden – orange, olive, pear, apple, and peach trees – offering fruits throughout the year. There are also flowers and organic grown vegetables in the back garden area of the house. The 50 sq.m. adult swimming pool and the 12 sq.m. children’s swimming pool offer you moments of peace and relaxation. There are some excellent facilities such as BBQ, children’s playground, parking area.
