The view from up there is magnificent, especially during sunset. The municipal outdoor theatre Erofili stands also at Fortezza's premises. It hosts almost all the performances during the Renaissance Festival which takes place during July and August. The Archaeological Museum of Rethymno is located in front of Fortezza castle. We stayed at the villa for a period of 10 days as a group of 7 friends, and it was more than perfectly suited for our requirements. With a large pool and also a separate garden with BBQ and wonderful view of the sunset. It was perfectly placed to enjoy the wonderful scenery and the villa itself was cleaned regularly and efficiently. The local area has many Tavernas which we enjoyed on a daily basis, both being often cheaper even than eating in and providing a taste of Greek cuisine. Maria - who rented us the apartment - was eternally helpful and gracious, providing us with useful advice, information and tips about things to do on our stay. This villa would be perfect for a family or families, or for a group of friends - as we were. It really is inexpensive for the high quality we experienced on our holiday. |

We stayed in Villa Ilia. The standard of the villa is excellent. The housekeeping and pool maintenance are exceptionally good. Close to local beaches and plenty of choice of local tavernas although a car is definitely required. Excellent communication with the owners who were very attentive to our needs. I would thoroughly recommend this Villa. |
