Come and enjoy your holidays in this stunning country house, or Finca as it is called in Spanish, which is located just outside the typically Spanish village of Relleu. The house is spacious and has magnificent views to the mountains across almond and olive groves and is just 2 km from the village and a short drive to the wonderful beaches and popular resorts that can be found all along the Costa Blanca coastline.

This house retains wonderful original features but has been thoughtfully modernised to provide comfortable and well maintained accommodation. All ages can enjoy their holidays here and the terrace and pool areas can be fenced and are safe for children.

The farmhouse, which is over 200 years old, maintains many original features but has now been converted to provide a comfortable house with a private pool and gardens to enjoy, and everything you need for up to 8 people.

The village of Relleu is two minutes drive away and the beaches and resorts of Benidorm, Albir, Villajoyosa and El Campello can easily be reached by car in approximately 20 minutes.

The house will suit all ages and is great for families, but also for walkers who want to explore the countryside on the network of marked paths and cyclists who can find a challenge up and over the mountains.

On entering you will find a lovely hallway leading to the stylish living room, which has two sofas, a wood burning stove and flat screen TV with UK satellite. The living room has exposed beams and has a door directly leading out to the terrace. From the living room, there is also access to the dining room which seats 6. The kitchen is a wonderful, typically Spanish room which originally would have been space for feeding animals. As well as a number of original features, there is plenty of work space and it is fully equipped for your stay and here there is also an additional dining area for 4. From the hallway you will find a second living room / games room with TV, fireside chairs, wood burning stove and sofa. If eight people are staying, this room will be converted to a twin bedroom. A Wii is available for your use, feel free to bring your own games! Also we have an iPod docking station and extensive DVD library. There is also a guest cloakroom on this entrance floor.

Deep stairs from the kitchen, which are double stairs from the hall, lead to the first floor where you will find 3 very good sized bedrooms with wardrobes and chests of drawers, authentic shuttered windows and each has an en suite bathroom. Two bedrooms are furnished as doubles and the third as a twin room.

Wifi is included with no supplement charged, we also have available two travel cots, high chair and electric bottle sterilizer unit, please let us know if you would like these made available.

No air conditioning is installed at the house but it really is not needed as the house was built to be cool in summer and warmer in winter. Fans are provided in all the bedrooms, there is a ceiling fan in the master bedroom, and for visitors staying over winter, heating can be provided at a supplement.

Further details outdoors

Outside the house, there is an extensive south facing fenced terrace and large private pool, which can be additionally fenced for the safety of small children. The terrace provides plenty of space for soaking up the sun on the loungers provided and has a charcoal BBQ. There is direct access from the living room to a covered eating area (naya) with table and chairs, perfect for al fresco dining. At the far end of the terrace, there is another naya, with couch and chairs, ready for you to relax. The house is set in 8000 sq meters of land, terraced by the Moors, and planted with almond and olive trees. There is a large heated pool with plenty of space around for soaking up the sun in the loungers provided.

The pool can be heated but you will need to order this prior to your arrival.

Visit in February to see the almond trees in full bloom covered in pink and white blossom. There is parking for several cars to the side of the house which is situated on a quiet road outside the village.

The Valenciana region

The nearest Airport is Alicante and just a short coastal drive using the AP7 motorway will bring you to the property. The Costa Blanca is renowned for its year round sunshine and low rainfall, fresh fish, hand picked oranges, figs, dates and vegetables. In the early spring the whole area is covered with the white or pink blossom from the Almond trees and the sight and smell is incredible.

Many fiestas held throughout the year can be enjoyed by all ages, these colourful spectacles can be found in most towns and include the Moors and Christians festivals with week long processions, battles and incredible firework displays. In June the celebration of Hogeras where huge statues are set on fire to celebrate the night of St Juan should not be missed and the province of Alicante is known for staging the best Hogeras festival. The cosmopolitan City of Alicante is just 50 minutes by car or can be reached via a coastal train ride from Villajoyosa, and you will find a fantastic port area and the spectacularly tiled Esplanada, favoured in the afternoons by the locals who sit and watch the people pass by. The Santa Barbara castle is wonderfully lit at night and is host to the many concerts and firework displays to mark celebrations throughout the year. A fabulous marina with yachts and visiting cruise ships and typically spanish tapas bars serving excellent local food.

Villajoyosa is the nearest beach town from this property with its bright painted houses, painted this way it is said so that the fisherman can see their homes when out at sea. This town and many others host spectacular fiestas every year, try and catch one if you can. You can also reach the popular resort of Benidorm quite easily. Benidorm is well known for its glorious beaches and professional entertainment, shopping, theme parks and much more.


Relleu is a lively, friendly Spanish village with about 1000 residents, located approximately 20 minutes/20km by car inland from the pretty seaside town of Villjoyosa.

In Relleu, you will find bars and restaurants, a lovely church and square, supermarket, bank, pharmacy, butcher (selling his award-winning sausages), and a baker where you can buy your fresh bread and cakes. You will find wonderful fresh produce at the markets held every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. You can also visit the Moorish castle in Relleu and the Town Museum, as well as the other nearby villages steeped in history and tradition, including Sella where the women can still be found washing their clothes in the stream running through the town, the village of Finestrat and the mountain top village and castle of Guadalest, but not forgetting the warm blue Mediterranean and the miles and miles of golden sandy beaches that can be found along the coastline, easily reached by car.

"A wonderful place to stay!"

This is a lovely traditional house with sympathetic modernisations, which retains its delightful character, charm and comfort. It is fully equipped for self catering and has large and comfortable en-suite bedrooms. Set in a timeless rural landscape of olive trees and gentle hills, it has wide ranging views and an air of peace and tranquillity. There is a beautiful private heated pool with sheltered seating at either end, perfect for relaxing or eating outside. The small characterful village of Relleu is just a short distance away, and access to the coast is easy by car. We have stayed here twice, and loved it just as much both times!
