The attractive 18th century Chateau de Foulz is situated in the heart of the champagne region only a short drive from the town of Troyes. The property lies in 17 acres of it own grounds and is surrounded by beautiful parkland with the river Seine running through the garden. Chateau de Foulz even has its own private tennis court. The castle has been well furnished and decorated to a high standard throughout.

The Northern France / Champagne-Ardenne region
Situated in a sixteen hectare park, this lovely 18th century château estate is 3km from the village of Bar-sur-Seine, 20 kms from the town of Troyes, and two hours drive from Paris. The young river Seine flows through the gardens for more than a kilometre. Bar-sur-Seine has all the essential shops and there is a greater selection including supermarkets, restaurants and general facilities, in Troyes.
Troyes is a quiet town; tucked in a loop of the Seine, it still has an unspoilt central area of delightful narrow cobbled streets lined with medieval timbered houses. Look for Barbery, a soft round cheese cured in wood ashes from the village of the same name nearby. Southern Champagne is an area of peaceful open plains and woods, rivers and lakes, whilst the vineyards are further to the west and north in the Marne valley and on the slopes of the plains around Reims.
- Bar sur Seine: office de tourisme has information about the area, cultural events, special activities and scenic walks.
- Kids: Eurodisney Paris.
- Bar sur Aube: Nigloland.
- Champagne tours: visit of the caves in Reims or Epernay.
Reims / Troyes area
- Golf: There is also a good golf course at Cordelière, the old Moet et Chandon château.
- Other local activities: tennis, waterskiing, sailing, mountain biking, hunting, quad-tours, fishing, canoeing.
- There are a range of restaurants to choose from - from small country to gastronomic, including a Michelin starred restaurant 4km away.
- Most of the villages have markets on different days of the week.

Further details indoors: The Chateau de Foulz is available for exclusive hire for groups of up to 23 to sleep in its 11 double and twin bedrooms. Breakdown as follows:
Ground floor: Large entrance hall leading in to a 40m2 sitting room with open fireplace and TV, family dining room, formal dining room (seating up to 16). Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave and oven. 70m2 Billiard room, music centre, scullery and WC.
First floor: 6 double bedrooms, 1 twin bedroom with additional single bed, 3 bathrooms and a WC.
Second floor: 4 twin bedrooms, WC.
Further details outdoors: Outside: In the grounds is a chapel, a small cottage (with 2 double bedrooms, a bathroom and small kitchen that can be used for an au pair or similar), and the stables and garages (with enough space for 3 cars). Additional cars can be parked in the courtyard. There is also a BBQ and two outdoor dining tables to seat the entire group. The grounds are entirely fenced making it safe and secure for children to run free. The gardens are beautiful and very well maintained. 1.5km of riverside - perfect to swim, sail and fish. There is a large lake a few kms away that offers many water sports including sailing and water-skiing. Also available are tennis and horse-riding.
Conditions
- Security deposit: €1500. This is paid on arrival and will be refunded in full after departure subject to damage inspection. - Linen & towels: All linen is included in the rental price. Please bring your own towels. - Energy costs: Included in the rental price. - End of stay cleaning: Included. - Arrival time: 4pm onwards. - Departure time: 10am. - Pets: No pets allowed. - Smoking: Smoking is permitted in the property.
