The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur region

Within a 20 minute drive, you are in the Gorges du Verdon. If you see little else on your trip here, this is a must. The Gorges are at the base of the French Alps and the water flows down through to the Lac St Croix, which is a man made reservoir.

Here it is possible to take part in all of the following activities: Water sports: sailing, water skiing, and fishing. Aerial sports: paragliding, free flight, gliding. Also possible are climbing, hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking.

The Lac St. Croix, is an 11km long lake. The water is turquoise blue, and there are many places for sun bathing, swimming and picnicing.

There are many small villages situated around the Lac, one of which being Moustiers St. Marie. Moustiers is a small attractive town perched on the edge of a ravine. The town is famous for its faience pottery, and the narrow village streets are crammed with shops and studios.

There are so many different things to see here, it is difficult to mention them all.

For those of you who like to play golf, Nans la Pins in the closest golf course and is approximately 45 mins drive.

Parc Naturel Regional du Verdon: We are located in the Parc Naturel Regional du Verdon in the Var Department, The park extends to over 180,000 hectares and is situated between the Cote d'Azur and the Vaucluse.

Both Regusse and nearby Aups have an altitude of between 500 and 600m, making the climate dry with a pure air.

A big bonus is that because the atmosphere is dry, it means that there are virtually no mosquitoes (if any)!

Regusse: The centre of the village is just a short walk through the streets where you will find the baker, bar and one or two restaurants a small supermarket and a gift/flower shop. Also within walking distance is the Post Office, swimming pool and tennis courts which are just a couple of minutes away.

The swimming pool which is open only in July and August is Olympic size and there is also a small children's pool. Attached to the pool is a snack bar/small restaurant available to both swimmers and non swimmers.

Details for booking the tennis courts can be made at the swimming pool. Next to the courts is also a play area for children. The Post Office is also on this site and there is a cash point located outside.

For supermarket shopping, there is a Super U on the edge of the village. There are also one or two other shops here including a haridresser and a 24/7 petrol station.

There is also a large market on a Sunday morning in the village, which is very popular.

Aups: Has 2200 inhabitants, and is a small market town. There are many facilities in Aups, including a reasonably sized Intermarche, a pharmacy, lots of other shops plus a good twice weekly market (Wednesday and Saturday mornings) selling local produce and other touristy bits. In the winter months, a truffle market is held on a Thursday morning from November to March. Further still for a more cosmopolitan selection is Draguignan which has several large Carrefour supermarkets and many other stores.
