Home description
The cottage has a state of the art brand new kitchen, with all mod cons including washing machine and dishwasher. The living quarters comprise a double bedroom and a room with 2 singles. There is also a fully equiped bathroom. It will comfortably sleep 4 adults or 2 adults and 2 children. There's a large terraced garden, with a sun deck and barbequeing area.
The cottage property is an old tin miners cottage which was refurbished during the winter of 2008. It sits on the side of the granite hilla of Carn Marth, a little above the main village centre, with far reaching views across the lush green Cornish Countryside. From the backdoor it's a 15-20 minute stroll to the top of Carn Marth, one of the highest peaks in the West of Cornwall.
Cornwall has so much to offer and to list everything here would be impossible but sitting in the middle of cornwall, the cottage serves a great launching pad for everything Cornwall has to offer.

The West Country / Cornwall region
West Cornwall Has so much to offer. Nearby, there are great beaches, great food, coast and hill walking, sailing, extreme sports, fishing, surfing, climbing, mining heretage, sailing, culture.
What holday in Cornwall wouldn't be complete without a cream tea and a Pasty? Foodies take note, there are countless hostelries in the vicinity all of whom serve up local cornish produce. Why not catch your own seafood on a boat trip out of Falmouth, then barbeque your catch that evening.
Redruth / Carharrack area
Carn Marth: High up here, from what's often dubbed the backbone of Cornwall, when the sky is blue, you can see both coasts and many of the landmarks of West Cornwall. How many tin mines can you spot from here? There's more about Carn Marth here. http://www.carnmarth.org.uk/.
In the summer months the theatre even comes to town. Coming up at the openair theatre during Summer 2008 is the Miracle Theatre, who are bringing us JASON on Friday 29th August. Additionally we have Welsh company, Anvil Productions, bringing us two plays at the end of July - Othello on the evening of Saturday 26th July and David Copperfield on the afternoon of Sunday 27th July.
The beach isn't far either. Get buckets and spades at the ready and be sure to have your board waxed for when the surf gets up. The north Cornish coast is just a short drive away - some of the best surfing in Cornwall rolls into Porthtowan, Chapel Porth, Perran Sands, and Gwithian. Wether it's the gentle summertime breakers you're after, or the fast, steep, unforgiving smoking barrels that regularly pound Porthtowan - all options are nearby. All these beaches are lifeguarded from Easter to the early autumn. Give me a shout when you are booking, and I'll organise some surfing lessons or board hire for you and the family.
Other places of interest in the area are: - The Cathedral City of Truro - Eden project - Lost Gardens of Heligan - Tones of National Trust coastlint and other beautifully laid out gardens right on the doorstep. - Moorland walks, coastal walks. - The mysterious Gwennap Pit is just around the corner. - Falmouth Maritime Museum - Camel Trail Cycle route - Porthtreath cycle route - Sandy beaches, rocky shores, storm watching. - The Minack Theatre
How to get there
The best way to get to the cottage is by car and I'd recommend that people staying here have a one, as being in a small Cornish Village, transport links aren't ideal. Having said that of course there are regular bus services to and from most of the larger towns nearby - you'll need to be regimental in your organisation if you want to take this option.
The cottage is less than 3 mins from the A30, the main route in and out of Cornwall. There are mainline train services to Truro and Redruth, both around 15mins in a taxi. Newquay Airport is about 30 mins and there are services from London Manchester and a few other places. Car hire is available at Newquay Airport.
