The Brittany / Ille-et-Vilaine region
Brittany used to extend down as far as Nantes, which is now the capital town of Loire Atlantique. Consequently there are still Breton features to be seen in many towns and villages, and Redon's Abbey dates back to at least the 11th Century. Our proximity to the coast means that we benefit from a micro-climate, and with easy access to the coast, there are many safe beaches for swimming as well as wind surfing. The local wildlife includes buzzards, herons, hoopoe, red squirrel, deer and wild boar.
Redon area
Redon is a major crossroads between Brittany and Western Loire and the South. The Nantes-Brest Canal is just 15 minutes away and provides excellent walks and cycle rides as do the local rivers Vilaine and Don. The town of Redon has an excellent Monday market, which features an indoor hall of produce, meat, fish and local crepes and galletes. It is possible to take a trip on the TGV (high speed train) to Paris from Redon, and in October, Redon celebrates the sweet chestnut festival. There are plenty of local places to visit, including the car museum at Loheac, the Prehistoric Park at Malansac, Oceanarium at le Croisic, the superb towns of Vannes and Nantes, Rochefort en Terre and La Gacilly.

Each gîte offers 1 ground floor double bedroom with adjacent shower-room, 2 upstairs bedrooms with 3 single beds in each, and an adjacent shower-room. In this gîte, La Four à Pain, the kitchen/diner and the lounge are separate rooms. There is satellite TV. Each gîte opens onto its own private patio area and then a communal lawn area, with the swimming pool about 30 mtrs from the accommodation. The swimming pool is surrounded on 3 sides by a wall and the fourth side has fencing, all of which conforms to the French safety norms.
Further details outdoors: The swimming pool is normally heated from May to September, subject to weather conditions. There are children's swings and slide available in the grounds. There is ample off road parking adjacent to the property.

Thanks for the memory. We have all enjoyed ourselves enormously in this most idyllic of spots. Great accommodation & the pool was a real bonus. On behalf of us all, thanks for everything. Nick & Marian, Broadstone, Dorset.
Lovely, comfortable and homely cottage. Delightful friendly hosts, and such a tranquil place. Thoroughly enjoyed it and don’t want to leave. We will be back. Kayleigh, Gez, Andrew Sian, & Huw, Cardiff
We have all enjoyed our stay very much. The cottages are very well equipped and a good base to travel around from. Will recommend highly. Matthew, Michele, Chloe & Lydia, Devon
We have had a great time here in marvellous weather. There is so much to do, especially with the children. We recommend Boissiere Du Ore Zoo (Nantes), the Oceanarium at Croisic is fantastic. We’ll see you next year to so some more. Helen, Khaver, Lili & Amelia, Glasgow
