Oakdene Cottage is situated close to local common, where you can enjoy a lovely stroll. A leisure centre is 5 mins walk from the property where you can enjoy swimming and many other activities. Various golf courses within 30 minute drive. 5 Minutes from historical town of Reigate, which has many bistros and restaurants. 20 minutes from the beautiful towns of Dorking and Box Hill ( National Trust ) and many villages which surround this wonderful area of Surrey.
The Redhill area
Redhill/Reigate are market towns in the best tradition of English rural towns. For hundreds of years they have provided the focus and setting for the activities of townspeople and villagers from surrounding communities. It has always been and still is a living community, with a strong sense of history and tradition.
The people who live here have a pride in their community and the fabric of places, streets and buildings that give the town its special identity and sense of place. Visitors to Reigate will find a town that offers much to be enjoyed. Redhill/Reigate are renowned for good food and drink, architecture and heritage and shopping.
The Surrey Hills close by are a nationally important landscape. It was one of the first areas in England to be designated an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'. This designation recognised the beauty of the landscape and ensures that it is properly conserved and managed for future generations to enjoy. It is the most wooded of the country's protected landscapes and one of the most varied.
However, there is much more to a visit to this area than the landscape alone. There are visits and attractions as diverse as Chessington World of Adventures on the one hand, one of the country's leading theme parks, to a visit to Britain's largest vineyard at Denbies Wine Estate.
