Croft House is perfectly situated to allow you to explore the delights of the Lake District, within a very short distance of Shap Valley and the surrounding fells. From Reagill there are wonderful views of the Pennines, and the studio provides the perfect place to relax after a long day spent touring.
The studio apartment comprises, Kitchen, shower room, w.c., bedroom/reception. This is a small, but very cosy property which will suit single people coming on holiday alone or couples. For all who are single, a warm welcome will await you; the owner understands how difficult it can be to come on holiday alone and will assist if so desired in places to visit, eat and just have a really lovely time! Recent conversion of single-level ground floor barn, as an annexe to Croft House itself. There are steps to the entrance. Central heating & hot water is provided within the cost of rental. This property is best suited to single person wishing a tranquil location whilst visiting the Lakes and Eden Valley, but can accommodate a couple via separate bed stored underneath the single one.

The Cumbria/Lake District
Cumbria is home to some of England’s finest scenery and Reagill is a perfect base to explore it from. It is a tranquil sleepy hamlet set sufficiently high to get good views of the Pennines; but within a very short distance of Shap Valley and Fells. Ullswater and Haweswater are 20 minutes and 10 minutes away respectively. Appleby is 7 miles, Penrith 12 miles and Kendal 15 miles.
Places of interest, leisure activities, shops and good food are within easy driving distances and information is available at the Apartment. Walking and/or general touring - you are spoilt for choice!
Reagill area
All details of places to visit etc. are available within the Apartment. The choice is so enormous that it really depends upon the visitor's personal interests.
Festivals include the Appleby Fair, Appleby Jazz Festival; Keswick Dickens Festival; Keswick Drama Festival Local outdoor Shakespearian plays; music etc during the summer.
Local Bowls, horse-riding and cycling.
Alpaca Centre, Birds of Prey Centre, Local theatre in Penrith, Kendal and Keswick. Numerous other activiities including arts and crafts festivals occur throughout the year.
How to get there
1) Via the South: M6, Jct 39. Continue to Shap Village, in middle of village is a Fish&Chip shop, with sign to Crosby Ravensworth - Turn right. Follow road for approx 3 miles. Look out for Woodlands on right-hand side on steep hill, turn next left on bend signposted to Reagill. Park near sign to Cat Nap Cattery and the apartment will be found down the driveway.
2) Via the North and Scotland: M6, Jct 40, turn left and follow signs for the A.6 to Shap. In middle of Shap village is a fish&chip shop - turn left - this is the Crosby Ravensworth Road; follow raod for approx 3 miles. Central heating will be provided at the owners discretion viz Season of year and timings when ch will come on/off etc. and inclusive in the weekly Tariff; however should you require a further extended period of heating over and above that of the owners discretion, an extra charge of £50 will be required in advance.
Further details outdoors: Croft House Studio Apartment is based in the tiny hamlet of Reagill. It is ideal to tour the lesser-known area of the Lakes, being Eden Valley, the Pennines and Scottish Borders; it is within easy travelling distance of the Lakes themselves. i.e. the best of all worlds! There is a wealth of walks, tourist attractions, shops, leisure facilities etc. again within easy distance.

I live alone since my divorce and was dubious about coming to the Lakes as a female on my own - I shouldn't have worried, as the owner simply makes you feel secure and safe but without inhibiting your privacy ! Bring loads of salads and/or ready-made meals and just enjoy the lovely surroundings, then crash out in the Flat - its simply great!!
We wanted somewhere not too expensive so that we could spend our time just walking and had a place to sleep over. The Flat is comfortable, clean and affordable, we really had a nice time, ate out mostly in Pubs and it didn't break the bank balance.
