Cottage | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 4
Rivers End is a traditional cottage, which has been beautifully modernised to a high standard, sleeping up to 4 people. The cottage is situated on the sea front over looking the estuary where three rivers running from the Lake District fells reach the sea. The veranda at the cottage faces to the West and so gets fantastic sunsets over the sea.
An entrance doorway leads from the street into the hallway. Rivers End has beautiful local slate floors throughout the ground floor. On the ground floor are the bedrooms, one double and one twin. The twin bedroom is to the rear of the property, overlooking the estuary and has glass doors leading onto the patio. The wet room has a slate floor and a rainhead shower with long arm shower head, WC and washbasin.
Upstairs is the open plan living area which has a lovely wooden floor throughout. The kitchen is fitted with local slate work surfaces, an inset sink, ceramic hob and electric oven. There is also an under counter fridge (no freezer), toaster, slow cooker, table and chairs.
The comfortable sitting room has modular chair/sofa seating, with beautiful views looking out of the picture window to the estuary and sandbanks. There is a TV and DVD player and a woodburning stove (with initial supply of wood provided). A door leads out to the small balcony area with steps down to the enclosed patio. Wifi internet access is available at this property.
Outside is an enclosed sheltered patio area looking out to the estuary. There is garden seating, to enjoy sitting out and watching the stunning sunsets. The patio area can be accessed either from the glass doors off the twin bedroom or down the steps from the balcony from the lounge.

The Cumbria/Lake District
With its breathtaking mountain scenery, beautiful lakes and picturesque villages, the Lake District is a paradise, not only for outdoor enthusiasts but for anyone who loves peace and beauty.
The changing seasons bring with them different highlights. In Spring observe baby lambs, bouncing around Wordsworth's Daffodils; laze about by a lake in Summer, after walking amongst the fells; watch the beautiful colours appear in Autumn, whilst hopefully enjoying an Indian Summer and Winter boasts cold frosty days, warm snug evenings and sitting in front of an open fire with a large glass of wine.
The beautiful lakes with dramatic fells rising from their shores are just part of a great experience. The Lake District offers excellent local food, beer and fantastic activities that make a holiday here live long in the memory.
The village of Ravenglass dates back to Roman times as it formed a great natural harbour and there are still ruins to explore. It is the starting point for the famous Ravenglass & Eskdale steam railway, which makes a leisurely seven-mile trip to the Eskdale Valley. If you are feeling energetic a walk or cycle back is fantastic over Muncaster Fell.
There are two pubs in the village and the Pennington Hotel & Restaurant (open to non residents), all of which are within a five-minute walk. Just outside the village there is Muncaster Castle Gardens and Owl Centre which is a great visit for both adults and children.
The village shop and post office sells a variety of food and newspapers and the Ratty Shop sells gifts and crafts, as well as a comprehensive range of maps and guides. There is reasonable mobile reception on the beach and in certain parts of the property.
