The Amalfi Coast region
This is a beautiful region in southern Italy, with warm winters and hot summer this is an ideal holiday spot and second most popular region in the country.
This is also a place where the history and culture is well preserved and visible in every day life. The cuisine is divine, people friendly, and weather ideal.
You will enjoy the lazy afternoons in the shade with a glass of local wine; taking long walks in the valleys and visiting historical places in the nearby Naples, Salerno, Pozzuli, Acerra or Amalfi, Positano, Capri...
Ravello is known as the city of music. It is situated on the slopes of the Lattari mountains, at about 5km from Amalfi and dominates the entire Amalfi Coast from high up in the mountains. From this vantage point the vast panorama of the Amalfi Coast unfolds it's dreamlike beauty.
Ravello has always been a high class tourist destination for those looking for tranquillity. In the last century, a number of composers found Ravello to be the ideal place for inspiration and relaxation. Richard Wagner, as well as Giuseppe Verdi, Edvard Grieg, and Igor Stravinsky enjoyed visiting Ravello, and Wagner's "Parsifal" was composed here.
Many others have been drawn to Ravello's quiet charm, such as Greta Garbo, Andre Gide, Humphrey Bogart, Gina Lollobrigida, Winston Churchill, Ingrid Bergman, Roberto Rosellini, Federico Fellini, John and Jacquelyn Kennedy, Romy Schneider, Francios Mitterrand, Gore Vidal, Zubin Mehta...
Today, half of Ravello's visitors are British and American, attracted by its cultural and architectural appeal. Two famous villas are of special interest: Villa Cimbrone, with its view from the "Terrace of the Infinite", and Villa Rufolo with its concerts and collection of buildings dating from the thirteenth century, some with Islamic influence.
The cathedral dates back to the eleventh century, and inside the seventeenth century chapel is a phial of the blood of the patron saint, Pantaleone, which undergoes annually the phenomenon of liquefaction.

"Brand new quiet apartment in gorgeous location"
we loved our 6 nights in this apartment. The kitchen was fully stocked and everything was spotless. Our apartment manager was a delight and full of help with activities and care for our 18 month year old son. My husband and I loved Ravello but really really loved this apartment! Transfers to and from Naples airport were very convenient especially as we could arrange a baby seat for our son.
