Killygarvan cottage has been designed as a spacious retreat in a tranquil country setting located a short distance from the amenities of the local holiday village of Rathmullan. The interior of the cottage is deceptively spacious with a strong emphasis on natural light running through the cottage culminating in the large conservatory leading off the kitchen area. The cottage provides an ideal location to take advantage of all the local facilities including deep sea angling, horse riding, walking, golfing and of course the glorious sandy beaches.
The cottage has four bedrooms, two double rooms up-stairs one of which is en suite. Downstairs there is one double room with en suite and a single bedroom. There is space to sleep seven adults comfortably. The cottage is child friendly with a highchair, cot and stairgate installed.

The Donegal region
Donegal has a wide varity of activities to suit all tastes. The relaxed pace of life is truly something to be appreciated as you explore the many hidden delights Donegal has to offer. There is no shortage of things to do whatever your needs. From hill-walking, golfing, water sports, fishing, walking along the glorious sandy beaches to travelling to Glenveagh Park in search of a glimpse of the golden eagle. Up here things are different.
Rathmullan area
Rathmullan has a pivitol place in history as it was from here the last of the great Irish cheiftans departed these shores forever in an event known as the Flight of the Earls. An interpretive centre in the village explains this event in detail.
Today Rathmullan provides all of the charm and relaxation of a typical seaside Irish village. The setting provides the ideal location to unwind as you enjoy the countryside and sandy beaches. The village has four pubs and a number of excellent restaurants. One of which, An Bonnan Bui, has recently been added to the Bridgestone 100 best restaurants in Ireland guide. There are numerous local festivals during the summer period.
For the more active of you the village also provides deep-sea fishing charters, horse riding and local golf courses. Otway golf course is two kilometres from Killygarvan cottage and provides the added benefits of stunning Donegal scenery as you improve your swing. Portsalon golf course is ten minutes away, while Letterkenny provides karting, nightlife, golfing and the local theatre.
How to get there
Rathmullan is situated 15miles from the town of Letterkenny. The main bus station is situated in Letterkenny, with numerous links including Dublin airport.
To arrive at the cottage take the turn off for Ramelton on the outskirts of Letterkenny. Take a right turn for Rathmullan after crossing the bridge in Ramelton. Travel through the town heading towards Portsalon. Two and a half kilometers along the road you will pass over a bridge along the beach. Travel on around the next three corners and the cottage is situated on your left.

The normal rent period is sat to sat, please enquire for other periods. A deposit of €100 euros secures a booking with the remainder due six weeks before occupancy begins. The property is available for longer lettings, which will be charged at discounted rates. The rental charge for the cottage includes electricity and heating costs. Bed linen is provided, towels are available on request.
