In 1940, Sundowner played a heroic role during World War II's Operation Dynamo.

During the operation, more than 700 boats departed Ramsgate Harbour on the perilous mission to recover Allied troops from the beaches of Dunkirk.

Sundowner was the bravest of all the vessels. Crewed by Charles Lightoller, once second officer of the Titanic, the boat crammed 130 men into its tiny frame and almost capsized on re-entering the Harbour.

You can sometimes still see this much-loved vessel in the marina.

Sundowner occupies one of the best positions in Ramsgate.

The accommodation is in the Ramsgate throng, a matter of minutes from the hubbub of the Royal Harbour and a moment away from a number of restaurants on Westcliff Arcade.

Housed within a characterful Art Deco building, it is furnished to the highest quality. The open-plan kitchen and sitting room is light and airy with a pale driftwood floor.

A cosy sitting room leads out to a terrace, complete with table and chairs, overlooking the emerald waters of Ramsgate Marina. From here, you can enjoy views of the Royal Harbour, take in the fresh sea air – or, indeed, savour a Sundowner.

In the master bedroom you'll find a luxury King-size bed complete with memory mattress. There is an additional twin room, meaning the apartment can sleep four people in all.
