The Sabaragamuwa Province region
The Bulutota Pass where the Villa is situated overlooks an immense valley where you could see a reservoir surrounded by the Udawalawe National Park on a clear day. The sun rises in front of the villa over this valley and is a stunning site to the early morning riser.
The Villa is within a Tea and Cardamom estate comprising of 860 hectares and therefore abounds with numerous trails and sites inclusive of it's own Tea making factory.
Behind the Villa the estate borders the only Man and Biosphere rainforest reserve in Sri Lanka (designated as a world heritage site by UNESCO) which extends to 65,000 hectares of virgin rainforests. With a six km walk from the Villa one may enter a beautiful forest plain called Morning side where the Sambur (Local variety of Deer similar to an Elk/Moose) graze. Although rare, forest Elephants and Leopards frequent this area whilst the bird life is unbelievable with mixed species feeding flocks swarming the forest.
An hours drive from the Villa will get you to Udawalawe National Park which abounds with Elephant and other wildlife.
The climate is cool and ranges between 20 to 27 degrees Celsius.
Besides all of the above the Villa itself is so comfortable and relaxing that one could spend days just unwinding and indulging.
The area is about 850 meters in elevation and overlooks the southern part of the island's dry zone plains. Gushing rivers streams and waterfalls, cool winds, and fantastic view points are synonymous with this region. Predominantly Tea Plantations and Cardamom, Cloves, Pepper, Nutmeg plantations abound in the region. All in all it's a green paradise with luxury living.
