The Tuscany region

Siena, one of the most charming cities in Tuscany is set on three hills.

In the heart of the city is The shell-shaped Piazza del Campo, which houses the Palazzo Pubblico and the Torre del Mangia, is another architectural treasure, and is famous for hosting the Palio horse race.

Many are the ancient monuments such as the "Duomo" Siena's cathedral, which is one of the great examples of Italian Romanesque architecture, "St Maria della Scala", the Sanctuary of Santa Caterina, incorporating the old house of St. Catherine of Siena. Where you will find the miraculous Crucifix (late 12th century) from which the saint received her stigmata, and a 15th century statue of St. Catherine.

Siena offers many cultural events, concerts, cinema, theatre and a wide range of sporting activities.

Few geographical areas in the world can boast of the variety of environment that surrounds Siena. To the north is the Chianti region with rolling hills covered in olive groves and the vineyards. formations

This area is probably the most scenic in Italy with towns such as San Gimignano and Monteriggioni. A short drive will take you to Montepulciano and Montalcino a little hill top town in the Arbia valley where the famous Brunello wine is produced.

To the west is "La Creke" offering an astounding landscape with the contrast of the harsh rock.

Radda in Chianti

Radda in Chianti is a community in the Province of Siena in the Italian region Tuscany, located about 35 km southeast of Florence and about 15 km north of Siena.

At just a short distance are the main tourist areas in Chianti. Siena and Florence can easily be reached for day trips.
